Men’s Teams Roll
For Handicaps
Monday night the Men’s Bowl
ing League commenced its sea
son's activities when eleven teams rolled for handicaps. Sev^

Points were not awarded for
the initial games and the games

Taken in order,
as follows:
Same Old Story
On Alleys 1
Six and the Pinpoppers came out
978-942, 870-1,019 and 947-
1,019. Ken Hockey rolled in his
usual fine style with a 666 triple
for the Big Six. Bob Southcott
led the Pinpoppers with 6 54,
closely followed by Bob Nicol
(622) and Harry . Keiswetter
(620).
Next in line were the Apple
jacks and Strikes settling with
870-844, 809-774 and 1,066-967.
Howard Holtzman started the
season in fine style with a 300
single and a triple of 690. For
the Strikes, Cliff White rollec
584.
-'The Panthers and Keglers
played off in Alleys 5 and 6—
725-965, 749-1,031 and 935-979.
Lome Preszcator had 605 for
the Panthers while Roy Guay
(666), Bern McLean (649) anc Jim Miller (625) bowled well
for Pop .Watson’s team.
Dutcli Boy Absent
The team from the Dutch
Boy Food Market at Centralia
was absent. The Rural Rollers
bowled well, though, with 96 6,
1,022 and 914. Merle Mode was
high with 619.
Bob Simpson’s Spares showed
the four Maroons who showed
up that they could bowl a fair
game. They had 910, 972 and
1,011 for three games, with Don
Bray (656) and Rene Francois
(629) leading the way. Bill
Heywood was the Best Maroon
with 6 09.
The Butchers would have eas
ily mastered the Huskers had
points been awarded. They rolled
967-820, 946-821 and 1,059-1,-
004. Freddie Darling can't ex
pect much of a handicap with
the 619 triple he bowled for his
meatmen. Chester Mawhinney
bowled 572 for his team.

the results were

were quite content to allow us
to do the reporting. They admit
ted, though, that had Don Case
bowled to his phyllis extent,
things might have been differ

In all modesty, we must point
out that the Pinpoppers—with
3,024 pins—topped all the teams'
bowling Monday night. We can truly

No Bowling- On Monday
Next week, if all goes well,
the league schedule will be pub

be no league bowling to inter

day. It is too bad those “cold,

week couldn’t be. eaten!

Those who counted the num

must have realized that we did
not achieve a balance. .Eighteen
teams were hoped for but just
didn’t show. How many teams
are there now? We’ll let you
know next week . . . when, per
haps, we’ll know!
Itch To Start From Scratch
A number of bowlers seem to
treat this first night “handicap
bowling” rather lightly. We not

in a position where you don’t
need a handicap . . .
