Derry Boyle’s charges will now fight it out tor the W.O.- A.A. “B" Midget title in a best- of-five series with Elora starting this Friday. The winner of this series goes on in O.B.A. “O” competition. After winning a close game 4- 2 here last Thursday, the locals had little trouble whipping the Hamburg crew in the return bout Monday. Final score 17-3. A first-inning splurge of runs gave the winners all margin they needed. In the six more just for good measure. Terry Wade started the game with a clean single into right field. The rest of the lineup fol­ lowed with hard knocks and walks to pile up their big lead. The nine runs were scored on four hits, five errors and three walks. The winning h u r 1 e r , Don Wells, had little trouble with the opposition. He struck out nine men in seven innings. The three runs were all scored in the third on three walks and two singles. The team is now gunning in earnest for the OBA title. Zurich Wins Wednesday Zurich won their only game of the series last Wednesday night when they drubbed Dash­ wood 12-3 in Zurich. Barash was the losing pitcher. Mitchell Wins First C Final Mitchell Legionaires won the first game of the final Huron- Perth “C” playoffs when they defeated Clinton. Colts 9-4 in Mitchell Monday evening. Bartliff and Patterson were the battery for Clinton and Hal­ ley and Weber for Mitchell. Hal­ ley hit the only triple of the game and also had a two-bagger. Colts Eliminate Radar Clinton Colts eliminated Clin­ ton Radar from the “C” play­ offs with an 8-1 win Wednesday night. Exeter, ilderton Girls Out; Dashwood, Clinton In Finals After knocking out Exeter and Ilderton girls in the semi-finals of the WOAA softball league, ■Clinton and Dashood will meet in Dashwood Thursday night for the first game in the best four out of seven to decide the league championship. In Exeter Thursday night of last week, the Clinton Legion- ettes proved too heavy for the depleted Exeter team and they returned home with a 7-5 victory and three straight wins for a chance at the championship. During the regular series, the two games played by Dashwood and Clinton ended in a win for each.
