Forty­ seven members attended from Niagara Falls, Blenheim, Lon­ don, Ingersoll, Brigden, Owen Sound, Zurich, Hensall and Ex­ eter. An interesting programme of sports was directed by Mr. and Mrs. Frank Boyd of Niagara Falls, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Lamont and Mr. and Mrs. Melv Elliott of Zurich. The 1953 reunion will be held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Stewart McQueen of Hen­ sall. CENTRALIA Mr. and Mrs. L. B. Hodgson are holidaying at their cottage at 'Grand Bend. Miss Barbara and Master Dav­ id Lilley of London spent the weekend with their grandpar­ ents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Mc­ Falls. Mrs. T. Willis, Miss Flossie Davey, Mr. and Mrs. Harris West and Bette Lou spent the weekend at their cottage at Grand Bend. Misses Mary Ann and Frances Stojaspal visited for a few days last week with Mr. and Mrs. Gunn and with their uncle, Mr. Minarik, in London. Hay Releases Drain Contract Hay council awarded contracts for the Mousseau drain and took action on a petition for a drain on the north boundary at its regular meeting recently. Council accepted the com­ bined drainage tender for the Mousseau drain from William Lawrence for $4,475 for the open portion and from George M. Manning for $5,425 for com­ pleting the tile portion. Lt. Col. S. W. Archibald, O. L.S. was appointed engineer to bring in a report, plans and specifications on the drainage petition signed by A. Reichert, L. Reichert, G. Troyer, G. Da- tars, E. Jarrott, S. Kopp and J. Cochrane, for lots on the North boundary and concessions four and five. Guests The members of the Baby Band and their mothers and the Mission Band were entertained by the W.M.S. in the school room of the church on Tuesday afternoon of last week. Mrs. Arthur McFalls was lead­ er and welcomed all the guests. Number on the program includ­ ed a solo by Joan Essery, duet ■by Eleanor Mae Hodgins and Karen Essery, a solo by Carol McCurdy. Mrs. George Hicks told a story. The scripture was read by Mrs. George McFalls. Baby Band stories were read by Margaret Rose Bowden and Eleanor Mae Hodgins. A short address was given by Mrs. McFalls. His many friends and neigh­ bors hope for a quick recovery. Mrs. Sarah Needham of Ilder- ton visited recently with her father, Mr. William Hodgins. Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Hodgson (nee Olive Trevethick) and son, Gordon, of Alberta, are visiting with the latter’s brothers, Jack and James Trevethick, and other relatives. The pupils of School Section No. 6, McGillivray, presented their teacher, Miss Tomlin, with a mirror at the close of school. Miss Sandra Manque of Buf­ falo is spending some time with her uncle, Mr. and Mrs. David Morley. The pupils of School Section No. 5, McGillivray, presented their teacher, Mrs. Wesley Wat­ son, with a silver cream and sugar set and also a silver tray. Miss Elsie Morley of Exeter is spending some time with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Luther Morley. Mr. and Mrs. Alonzo Hodgins, Phyllis and Bobbie, spent Wed­ nesday evening with Mr, and Mrs. Wesley Watson. Mr. J. L. Amos spent Thurs­ day with Mr. and Mrs. John Schofield of Parkhill. ZION Miss Mildred Dundas and Miss Phyllis Hern of London visited ■the latter’s parents. Mr. and Mrs. Ward Hern. Miss Margaret Brock spent the past week with her aunt, Mrs. Milne Pullen, of Whalen. The Zion W.M.S. held their special missionary service on Sunday with Mrs. Bowers of Crediton as their guest speaker. She also spoke to the children during the 'Sunday School and showed different articles which she brought back from Africa to them. The soloist, Mrs. Wanless, rendered two lovely solos during the service. Mr. George Earl, of Exeter, visited with his daughters, Mrs. Norman Brock and Mrs. Harold Hern, on Thursday and Friday. Mrs. Christina Hern, of Ex­ eter, visited on Thursday with Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Hern. Mr, and Mrs. Mac Pullen and family of Woodstock visited on Sunday evening with Mr. and Mrs. Ross Hern. The Brock picnic will be held Wednesday, July 23, at Gibbons Park, London, in the afternoon and for supper. Mrs. Tom Hern, Muriel and Alma, Mrs. Harold Hern and Mrs. Norman Brock attended the trousseau of Miss Jeanne Hern in London last Friday night. Mrs. Allan Westcott and child­ ren visited with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ephriam Hern, on Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Hern and family attended the Becker re­ union on Sunday at the home of Arnold Becker in Stephen. Mr. and Mrs. Ross Hern and family visited on Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hamilton of London. Mr. Harry Hern was soloist at Grand Bend United Church on Sunday. Several of the ladies from the community attended the Wo­ men’s Institute picnic at Sea­ forth Tuesday of last week. Mr. Allen Westman is not so well again. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Zubal and girls of Edgewood and Misses Mary and Annie Zubal of the second concession of Bid- dulph spent the weekend at Tor­ onto visiting relatives. Miss Myrtle Rathburn, Reg.N., is visiting relatives in the com­ munity. Mr. and Mrs. W. Westman and Judy Allison spent a week with Mrs. Westman’s relatives in Peru, Indiana. Clare Sceli is camping at. Bimini. Mr. Ken Garrett has started cleaning up for the foundation for his new barn which was de­ stroyed by fire a week ago. Mr. George Kurzok of London spent the weekend at Joseph Zubal’s home. Miss Betty Lou Garrett spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ken Garrett. Mr. and Mrs. W, W. Garrett and family spent Sunday at Ipperwash. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Moore and family and Mr. and Mrs. Trevor Foster of the Mitchell road and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Bendall, Dar­ lene and Roy, of St. Marys, en­ joyed a picnic a,t Ipperwash on Sunday. The Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper was observed in United Church on Sunday morning last. Rev. G. C. Raymer administered the communion, Mrs. M. Mc,- Crady sang a solo. Misses Joyce and Marion Moore are spending this week with Mr. and Mrs. Trevor Fos­ ter of Mitchell road. ELIMVILLE Miss Betty Ann Stephen is spending a few days with Mr. and Mrs. Jack Robinson of Avonbank. A large number attended the Exeter horses races on Wednes­ day, July 9. Wheat cutting is in full swing for another year. Miss Shirley and Master Harry Jaques of Zion spent a few days last week with their grand­ parents, Mr. and Mrs. Philip Murch. Don’t forget the ice cream so­ cial held at the Elimville United Church on July 23. A good pro­ gram is being planned. Everyone is cordially invited. A good crowd of young people left Sunday to attend the girls and boys summer camps. Mr. and Mrs. Melville Skinner, Mr. and Mrs. Delmer Skinner and family visited on Sunday evening with Mr. and Mrs. Fred Ford of Eden. The Elimville Institute have been invited to Kirkton on July 24 as guests of the Kirkton In­ stitute for their July meeting in the evening.
