Tel. 31-W Mrs. 1). B. Sandors, i. native df Hay Township, who tor the past 37 years has been a resi­ dent of London, died Sundry at her home, 316 Wharncliffe road north. Married twice, Mrs. Sanders was the former Alice Myrtle Jar­ rett. She was a member of Em­ press Avenue United Church. Besides her husband, she leaves one son, Norman G. Jones, of London; a daughter, Viola, Mrs. Thomas Yocom, of Espanola, Ont.; two grandchild­ ren, Robert Jones and James J. Yocom; and one brother, Nor­ man Jarrott, of London. The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon from the A. Millard George funeral home. Interment was in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Mr. Sidney West and his mo­ ther visited last week with Mr. and Mrs. Harry West in Sarnia. Mr. and Mrs. West visited with Mrs. West on Sunday. Mr. Wilfred Turnbull and son of Toronto are visiting with Mr, and Mrs. David Miller and his mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Turn­ bull. Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Saunders and daughters, Margaret and Donna, of Wheatley, spent the weekend with their parents, Mrs. Jessie Saunders and Mr. and Mrs. J. Kydd. Miss Marion McLeod is spend­ ing holidays at Grand Bend. Mr. and Mrs. Reg Parsons, Myron and Kaye Don of Janes­ ville, Wisconsin, visited for a few days with relatives in and around town. Mrs. D. A. Anderson spent a few days last week with Rev. and Mrs. A. B. Irwin in Sarnia. Mr. and Mrs. J. Near, of near New York, are visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Wes Simmons. Mr. and Mrs. William Davey and Miss Davey and Mr. Stewart of Toronto spent Sunday with Mrs. H. R. Russell. Dr. H. J. and Mrs. MacKin­ non of Galt spent several days last week with the latter’s mo­ ther, Mrs. R. H. Russell. Dr. J. M- Kingston, Mrs. King­ ston, Molly and Johny, of Seat­ tle Washington, visited with Rev. and Mrs. H. J. Snell and family over the week-end. Dr. Kingston is a professor of mathematics at the University of Washington. Mr. and Mrs, Parker Kettleby visited friends on Sunday. Exeter Visitor On Europe Tour Mr. and Mrs. William Pybus have as their guest Mr. Pybus’ brother, Rev. George Pybus, of Edmonton, Alta., who has just returned from a four-montli visit to his son, Willard, who is a member of the Canadian Em­ bassy at The Hague, Holland. While in Europe he visited Belgium, France, Italy, Switzer­ land, West Germany, England and Scotland. In Italy he visited the Canadian Military Cemetery at Moro River on the Adriatic Sea, where his son, Gordon, is buried. He reports he has seen a lot worse-looking countries but none better than Western Ontario. Although now retired, Mr. Py­ bus is acting as assistant min­ ister of Metropolitan United Church in Edmonton, and also is secretary of the Edmonton presbytery. Mr. and Mrs. Curtis McAllister an<i children of Sudbury and Mrs. Harry Webber of Woodham visited last week with their aunt, Mrs. Thos. Bell who re­ sides on William St. Mr. Aquilla Sheere, of Detroit, is visiting at the home of his brother, Frank. Mr. and Mrs. Amos Parker, of Lansing, mot­ ored up with him and spent the latter part of the week here. Miss Jane Salter, of Wingham, and Misses Margaret and Meta Reeves of Seaforth, spent the forepart of the week at the home of their grandmother, Mrs. E. Salter, of Wingham. Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Doerr, of Mitchell, spent Sunday at the home of their son, Jack. M iss Beautena^ Ball Club Prize “Miss Beautena”—a registered Holstein heifer calf—will be won by some lucky contributor to the Exeter Baseball Club. The draw will be held on Fair Day, September 18. Now on display in Cann’s Mill's new showroom, “Miss Beautena” is a purebred heifer raised on a Purina dairy pro­ gram for demonstration pur­ poses. Cann's Mill donated the animal to the ball club to raise funds to meet the season’s ex­ penses. “Miss Beautena” was featured on a float in the Dominion Day parade. KIRKTON Mr. and Mrs. Thurlo Williams and daughter Gayle, of Wood- stock spent part of the past week with Mr. John Williams. Miss M. Muir, of Toronto, was a recent guest with her sister, Mrs. M. Gregory. The boys, who are attending camp at Bimbini are Bruce Greenstreet, Bill Marshall, Mur- lay Shier, Harold Burgin, Har­ old Doupe, Robert Anderson and Stanley Francis. Mr. and Mrs. Elgin Copeland, Bobby and Sandra, of Toronto, spent part of the past week with Mr. and Mrs. Art Copeland. Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Decoration Service Some 100 people attended de­ coration service at the Kirkton Union Cemetery Sunday after­ noon, July 6. The graves were beautifully decorated with lilies and roses. Dr. Gray of Stratford read the scripture. Rev. Wanless of Wood­ ham also assisted and Rev. Al­ lan Duffield, a former Kirkton boy, was the guest speaker, who brought a wonderful message, Gerald and Leon Paul render­ ed two lovely numbers with their mother at the piano. The com­ mittee In charge were very grateful to all who took part in every way and special mention to all who came from a distance. They were there from Detroit, London, Aylmer, St. Marys, Exe­ ter, Staffa, Cromarty, Toronto, Woodstock, Niagara and many others, also for the liberal col- * lection and donations. i Mr. and Mrs. Grant Sanders, son and daughter, of Riverton, N.J., visited at the home of the former’s father, s. Mr. Thomas Tapp, of Detroit, is visiting with his sister, Miss Mary Tapp. Mr, and Mrs. George Jaques are spending several weeks at Tavistock where they are keep­ ing house for Jane and Peter while Mr. and Mrs. Jim Francis are on a trip to the coast. Arthur Scott aud his grand­ son, Gordon, from Detroit, spent a few days with his daughter, Miss Evelyn Scott and Dr. John Ward. Mr. Scott recently left for a visit to Sunday and Gordon will remain for a while. (Last week we erred in this item, re­ ferring to Miss Scott as Mrs. Ward.) Mr. George E. Kether is at­ tending the wedding of Donald Taylor to Anita Datars in Zurich on Saturday. He will act as an usher. Mrs. James Anthony, Miss Edith Anthony and Miss Gladys Eclilin have left for a trip to Cape Cod where they will stay for a month. Mr. and Mrs. E. A.
