Dashwood intermediates are
setting the pace in the Huron-
Perth race. Wally Wein’s nine
have won all three starts of the
season.
They defeated the Colts Mon
day night 5-3 in the opener at
Clinton. Scoring all their runs
in the first three innings, they
held the Colts to three single
tallies. Bob Storms was the win
ning pitcher and Doug Bartliff
the loser.
In their second game last
Thursday, the Dashwood boys
scored an 8-2 win over Clinton
RCAF. Again they took an early
lead, via three runs in the first,
to set up their victory. Bob
Storms fanned 11 batters for his
win. Radar hurlers were Lewis,
Brown and Hadder.
St. Marys laced Zurich 13-2
to chalk up their second win of
the season Friday night. The
stone towners scored five runs
in the first inning to establish
the lead.
Pete Oundy hit a home run in
the first with a man on base to
account for all of Zurich’s runs.
Winning pitcher was Bradshaw,
who needed help from Graham,
and the loser was Cundy.

Saturday, the four-team
Wee League was in action again.
The Detroit Tigers finally found
the win column behind Jim Rus
sell’s fine pitching. The Bengals
scalped the Indians 12-6.
