Ont., has added new hope to the bleak future of the onee-famous tree. Believed to have been completely exterminated by the Oriental blight which swept away most of them several decades ago in southwestern On tario, these trees, some of which are seen above, are thought to have sprung up from the stump of many old ones killed by blight. Although they haven’t reached full production yet because of their immaturity, hope is held by I)r. W. Sher wood Fox. retired president of University of Western On tario, that with a new kind of soil, the sweet chestnut will be immune to the blight. —Central Press Canadian > Sixteen Kinsmen Attend Charter Night Sixteen Exeter Kinsmen tended Charter Night of newly-formed Clinton club Goderich Tuesday night.
