Midget "D” championship, to a turkey banquet in the Legion Hall Thursday. Seventy-five were present. W. F. Riley, president of the Chamber of Commerce acted as chairman of the evening. T. L. Laird Mickle presented the guest speaker Howie Meeker with a set of matching cuff links and tie pin. George Parker, captain of the midget team, extended the vote of thanks to the .Ghamber of Commerce for the banquet. Boy’s Leg Injured Playing With Raft Terry Forrest, two-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles For­ est, of Hensall, suffered a deep gash in his leg below the knee requiring a number of stitches to close. Terry, who was with a bunch of boys on top of a raft in the creek in the Park bush Sunday afternoon, saw the raft was going to upset and jumped. In so doing he fell on some jag­ ged rock in ‘the creek causing the injury. He was carried into town by Tom and Bill Lavender and taken to Clinton Hospital released on Monday. Buggy Norman Topham, who have celebrated his second day May 14, was instantly in his buggy Sunday afternoon, and his sister, Elinor Jean, is in fair condition with her left foot amputated in an accident when a car driven by Luba Spurdza of London swerved over the curb and into the' group of children. Elinor Jean was pushing her little brother in his baby buggy when the accident occurred. Mr. and Mrs. Harvd^ Damm of Wingham and Mrs. Colin of Walkerton were recent visitors with Kippen friends. Rev. and Mrs. Hinton called on friends in Exeter and Cen­ tralia on Sunday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Meilis and Mr. and Mrs. Norman Long visited on Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Armstrong of Staffa.
