Gibson and brass candle holders by Mr, and Mrs, R. Hodgins. Pot Luck Supper The Ladies Guild of Holy Trinity Church sponsored a pot­ luck supper and congregational get-together Wednesday night. In spite of other town activities there was a good attendance. Those present lined up and help­ ladentables Attends Eighty Conventions Dr. John Dearness, one-time Lucan teacher, who will be 100 next month, is this week attend­ ing the annual O.E.A. convention in Toronto for his eightieth time. When he didn’t appear the first day there was some specula­ tion he was going to miss the convention. Mrs. Allan Rush of London was the guest speaker at the W.M.S. meeting in the United Church parlours Thursday after­ noon and gave an interesting address on the Easter Message. There was a splendid attendance with only four absentees. Mrs. V. G. Banting’s group sponsored the meeting and Mrs. Banting had charge of the wor­ ship service. A trio by Mrs. McLean, Mrs.’ W. Successful Show The minstrel show sponsored by the teachers and pupils of Granton School and held in the Oddfellow's Hall last Thursday proved to be a decided success. Mrs. Ross Clathworthy was the pianist and Mr. William Parkin­ son was chairman. Mrs. H. Carroll and Mrs. J. Dickins attended the health lec­ ture in the auditorium of the Lucan arena on Monday evening. Mr. and Mrs. H. Davis attend­ ed the hockey game in Walker­ ton on Monday evening and on Tuesday visited with Mr. and Mrs. E. B. Smyth of Midland. On Wednesday Mr. and Mrs. Smyth and Mr, and Mrs. H. Davis visit­ ed with Mr. and Mrs. F. Dickins of Coldwater and returned home on Thursday. Quite a number of fans from this community attended the hockey game in Lucan on Thurs­ day evening and Mr. and Mrs. M. McDonald and Mr, and Mrs. H. Carroll and Mr. and Mrs. II. Davis attended the game in Goderich on Saturday evening. Mrs. A. Elston and family spent Friday at the home of Mrs. F. Davis. Mrs. R. Millson and Mrs. F. Mr. Richard Neil has been in St. Joseph’s Hospital, London, for two weeks following an operation. New Lines The Bell Telephone Company has finished putting in the four new lines, No. 162 on the second concession of McGillivray; No. 161 on No. 4 Highway, north of the village; No. 163, south of the village, and No. 164 on the second concession of Biddulph. At the Ebenezer Community Club annual dinner, prizes were won by Mrs. Lome Grose, Mr. Greig, Mrs. Cecil Powell, Don Riddell, Rhonda Hudson, Roland Riddell, Mrs. Wilfred Weir and Ken Facey.
