Th’e April meeting of the Clandeboye W.I. was held at the home of Mrs- Mac McNaughton. Nineteen members answered roll call. Reports were given by Mrs. E. Lewis, Mrs. W. Scott, Mrs. A. Blake and Mrs. J. Cunningham. Acting chairman for elections was Mrs. W. Scott. Following is the executive named: President, Mrs. Murray Thompson^ vice-presidents, Mrs, Alex Macintosh and Mrs. Ernie Lewis; secretary-treasurer and assistant, .Mrs.. Allan Hill and Mrs. Harold Hardy. District director is Mrs. Wil­ mer Scott. Directors are: Mrs. Ojnar Cunningham, Mrs. Rupert Williams and Mrs. Arnold Blake; standing committee convenors, citizenship, Mrs. Albert Rosser; public relations, Mrs. David Henry, Mrs. Morris Simpson will head the historical research commit­ tee; agriculture, Mrs. Clarence Hardy; home economics, Mrs. Norman Hardy; pianists, Mrs. Russell Schroeder and Mrs. Jim Patton; auditors, Mrs. Karl O’Neil and Mrs. Andy Thompson, Mrs. Clarence Hardy is in Charge of household hints. The meeting for the coming year were discussed. The Easter Bonnet parade was won by Mrs. Alex Macintosh and Mrs. George Simpson and a con­ test was won by Mrs. Clarence Hardy. Town Topics Miss Helen Hardy and Miss Helen Anthony .drove to Sarnia Wednesday afternoon to visit Dr, and Mrs. Sleeth. Friends gathered at the home of Mrs. W. Greenhough to shower Mrs. Steve Minter Wed­ nesday afternoon. Mrs. Jacob Erb and her daughter Mary Nichol of Brown City, Mich., and her daughter-in- law, Marion Anthony, of Pon­ tiac, are guests this week with Mrs, James Anthony. Isabelle Anthony and Gladys Echlin are with Mrs. Anthony this week. Marion Kerslake, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Kerslake, underwent an operation for the removal of her tonsils last week. Tonsilectomies at St, Joseph’s Hospital were performed for Ann and Marie Alexander and Scott Milner. Mrs. Robert Decher is in Vic­ toria Hospital. Funeral Services Held For Mrs. Leah Haugh Mrs. Leah Haugh, widow of the late John Haugh died sud­ denly Saturday night at her home in Dashwood. She was found by her son David Sunday morning. She had retired early Saturday night saying she didn’t feel well. She was in her eighty-fifth year. Born on the fourteenth con­ cession of Hay Township, she was a faithful member of the Dashwood Evangelical United Brethren Church. Her husband predeceased her 15 years ago. Surviving are one daughter (Edna) Mrs. John Schmidt of New Dundee; two sons, David at home and William of the fourteenth concession of Hay; two sisters, Mrs. Amos Schroeder of Langdon, New Dundee, Mrs. William Elsie of Grand Bend; one brother Ed. Geiger, Backoo, New Dundee. A private service was con­ ducted at the T. Harry Hoffman funeral home where the body rested and a public service fol­ lowed at Calvary Evangelical Church. Rev. J. H. Getz officiat­ ed and interment was in the Zurich Bronson Line Cemetery. Pallbearesr were: Kenneth Schmidt, John Gilbert, Percy Elsie, Herb Pfile .and Clayton Pfile. Seven young people were accepted into church member­ ship, Louise and Marjorie Hyde, Carol Faber, Wayne McBride, Douglas Cooper, Grant McGregor and Jack Bell, Mrs. Margaret Johnson of To­ ronto visited over the Easter week-end with her mother Mrs. W. W. Cooper in Exeter and her brother and sister-in-law Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Cooper, Kippen. Mr. and Mrs. Cudmore spent Easter Sunday and Monday at the home of their son and daughter-in-law, Mr, and Mrs. Stewart Cudmore of London. Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Ulch of Windsor were week-end guests of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Long. Mr. Hay, of Cromarty, visited recently with his sister and brother-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Robert Thomson. Long. Mrs. Alice Cook of London visited on Easter Monday with her mother Mrs. McClymont. Mrs. McClymont returned with her for a week's holidays. Mrs. Orville Workman return­ ed home Friday with her baby from Clinton Hospital. Mrs. Moir of Parry Sound is visiting during the Easter holi­ days with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Robert Thompson.
