Mrs. Horace Delbridge, W.M.S. president, officiated, Mrs. Wil­ liam Routly led in prayer, The 'choir rendered a lovely anthem, “On Calvary”, Mrs. Horace Delbridge duced the guest speaker, Bowers of Centralia, who ered a wonderful message the people of Africa, She told of a boys’ school where her hus­ band was a missionary but due to ill health, had to return home to Canada. She showed many souvenirs from Africa that were very in­ teresting and everyone enjoyed her immensely and her wonder­ ful story of the “black country”. Film Shown During the Sunday School hour on Sunday a very interest­ ing film, “Fujita,’, true story of a Japanese preacher, was shown to the congregation. Mrs. Harold Bell, Miss Ruth Skinner and Mrs. Ross Skinner attended a recreation programme in St. Thomas on Thursday eve­ ning. Mr. Alvin Pym and Howard held a successful sale on Friday afternoon. Revere Farm Forum Holds Social Night Revere Farm Forum held their social evening on Monday night in Revere School. Mr. Gordon Rathburn was chairman for the following program. Several slides were shown by Mr. Mesley of London, which were educational to pupils as well as the grown­ ups; chorus by the school pupils, “Here Comes Peter Cottontail” and Sleepy Time”. Accompanist was Miss Grace Lindsay. A reading was given by Mrs. Floyd Dykes; solos by Mr. Ger­ ald Dann, accompanied on the piano by Mrs. Charlie Gowan. Mrs. Cecil Bowman, Mrs. Ferris and Mr. and Mrs. Upshall were called upon for a quartet num­ ber, but instead, Mrs. Bowman read an address and Mrs. Ferris presented Mr. and Mrs. Upshall with a lovely tablecloth from the Forum members. Mr. and Mrs. Upshall thanked everyone and hoped they would visit them in their new home. The guest speaker was Mr. Keith. Mathers of Medway School, who gave an inspiring address on good sportmanship. The “Paul Brothers and Shir­ ley’’ from Kirkton had charge of the entertainment. Howard Kew and Carl Croclier led in a sing song. Harvey Langford, the president of the hockey team, awarded the two prizes to Herb Stretton for the most points and Fred Revington for the most most goals. Both players re­ sponded. The hard working kitchen committee deserves many thanks for their share in making this event ==such a wonderful success. Mr. and Mrs. W. Garrett of Granton spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Bob Coleman. A sing song was led by the leader, Mrs. C. Cor­ bett. The worship service was taken by Katie Graham and Rose Rev­ ington. Following the roll call and reports, plans were made for the next meeting. The group decided to postpone the next meeting until April 22 which will be after the Easter holidays. The girls decided to set May 1 as the time for com­ pletion of the layette. Bernice Appleton and Gladys Bond were appointed to prepare worship service for the next meeting. During the project period a discussion was held on good grooming, into which all the girls entered with interest and enjoyment. Coat Hanger Drive The Explorers of Lucan United Church held their regular expedition on Wednesday eve­ ning in the school room. Counsellor Iva Hodgins lead in recreation and singing and in the absence of Counsellor Joan McLean, took the study book as well. Owing to the fact that we did not have enough money in the treasury to purchase the church bible book mark, it was decided that we should collect metal coat hangers again, working to­ ward this goal. The election of officers re­ sulted as follows: Chief Ex­ plorer, LaVerne George; Assist­ ant Chief Explorer, Anne Marie Murdy; Recorder, Evelyn White- head; Keeper of the Treasure, Beth Watson; Pianist, Marjorie Sovereign. An interim expedition will be held on Thursday, April 10 at 0:30 and the group will parade to Holy Trinity Anglican Church for the service at 8:00, The expedition closed with the Explorer prayer and Taps. EDGEWOOD (Intended For Last Week) Three In Ditch Three drivers were unlucky on the slippery part of the high­ way between Edgewood and the farm of Roy Moore, Saturday night. \ The first was a Michigan car en route to Toronto, the second from London to Stratford and the third from St. Thomas to Kitchener.
