They were called ovei* owing to the death of Mrs. War­ wick. Sr. The Women’s Association of James Street Church held their annual banquet for the choir Wednesday night. Mrs. D. A. Passmore of To­ ronto is a guest at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Warren Sanders for a few days. Mrs. Thomas Kennedy and family, of London, spent last week with the former’s parents Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Cudmore. Mr. Kennedy came up Saturday and the family returned with him on Sunday. Mrs. Warren Sanders was in Hamilton over the week-end with Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Glad­ man formerly of Exeter who will leave Hamilton shortly for Van­ couver. Mrs. William Bird returned home from Kincardine • where she was visiting for a week. Sunday guests with Mr. Mrs. M« Sanders were Mr. Mrs. Eldon Kirton and Kirton Sr, of Bluevale and and Mrs. Courtney Kerr family of Goderich. Kathleen Hart, Mrs. Hart and Mrs. F. D. Orchard of Byron were in Exeter Tuesday. Exeter people in London hos­ pitals are: Mrs. William Thomp­ son and Mrs. William Bowden (St. Josephs), Miss Gladys Kestle, Mrs. Catherine Qreech, Mrs. 'George Jones and Mrs. Alice Medcalf (Victoria). Mr. and Mrs. Herman Mitchel and Les were in Aylmer on Sun­ day visiting with their daughter and son-in-law Mr. and Mrs, Edward Denroclie. Mr. and Mrs. Denroche are leaving for Eng­ land April 14 where Mr. Den­ roche has been posted. Mr. Roy Carrick of Sodom met with a painful accident on Sunday while splitting wood. The axe glanced striking his foot requiring several stitches. He was attended by Doctor Dunlop. Mrs. Elmore Harness under­ went an operation in Victoria Hospital, London, Monday. Cpl. Don Johnston, who was recently posted to Winnipeg, re­ turned to Exeter by plane Satur­ day to spend a two-week’s Leave. Mrs. Johnston and family will return to Winnipeg with him. Mrs. Ken Cudmore is holiday­ ing with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Keith MacLaren, Cromarty. Messrs. Fred Huxtable, Earl Carrol and Lee .Tory attended an International Harvester refriger­ ator meeting in London last week. Judy Gale Jory, whose birth was announced last week, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leland Jory, not Mr. and Mrs. Ray Jory as reported. L. V. Hogarth, of Exeter, James Gardiner, Kirkton, and Phillip McKenzie were elected as directors of the Huron Coun­ ty Fruit Growers’ Association at their annual meeting at Clinton and and Mrs Mr. and Mr. Elmer Bell, Q.C., presi­ dent of Western Ontario Pro­ gressive Conservatives, attended the PC executive meeting at Ot­ tawa this week. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Hunter- Duvar celebrated their silver wedding anniversary Tuesday. His father is stationed there with the RCAF. He was in his fourth year and had been seriously ill for some time. Mr. and Mrs. Grant lived in Exeter for five years when Mr. Grant was stationed at Cen­ tralia. He is survived by his parents and one brother David.
