Lobblies are, it would spoil the

their guests Goderich Rebekah
Lodge.
Mrs. Ada Armstrong, District
Deputy President, Brussels, was
a guest and addressed the lodge
during the evening. Mrs. Beat
rice Richardson, Noble Grand,
was in the chair. Mrs. Hazel Mc
Ewan, was soloist and Miss M.
Ellis and Miss W. Gray, favour
ed with readings. Mrs. Edith
Bell was accompanist.
Mrs. Mabelle Shirray, and
Mrs, Evelyn McBeatli directed a
recreational period of contests
for which prizes were awarded.
Prizes were also given to holders
of lucky cup and plate.

Past District Deputy President,
who was D is t r i c t Deputy
President, and who was District
Deputy President at the time
Hensall Lodge was instituted
presented a cheque to Hensall
Lodge on behalf of Goderich
Lodge. Luncheon and a birthday
cake were served. Honors of
lighting the candles went to
Mrs. Armstrong, D.D.P. Over
seventy members and guests en
joyed a most delightful evening.

Entertains Exeter, Goderich

meeting of the Ladies Auxiliary
to the Canadian Legion in the
Hensall Legion Rooms Tuesday
night, March 4» and entertained
as their- guests Goderich
Exeter Auxiliaries.
Two minutes silence was
served in memory of the
King George VI. Mrs. I). R. __
Kelvie was received into mem
bership of the group. Mrs. Keith
Buchanan, secretary, presented
the Financial Statement in the
absence of the treasurer, Mrs.
W. Brown.
Mrs. E. Dick, past president,
was presented a gift of a
silver dish by Mrs. Clark and
Mrs. B. Moir in appreciation of
her services. Mrs. W. Venner re
ported for the sick committee.
The president discussed a propo
sition as presented by the Cham
ber of Commerce, that of cater
ing for turkey banquet for the
Midget Hockey Team, sixty in
number, at $1.75

Hensall Considers
New Fire Truck
Hensall council discussed the
purchase of a new fire- engine at
their regular meeting Monday
night. The clerk was instructed
to get information on new
equipment from several manu
facturers.
.The council approved pur
chase of a bag of soda, a carboy
of acid, and a rubber coat for
the fire department. Permission
was given the brigade to remove
the oil lanterns from the truck.
E. R. Davis reported doing
some repairs to the chairs, also
painting the snow plow and sug-
gusted changes in the town hall
facilities.
Reeve A. W. Kerslake and
Clerk James Paterson reported
on the convention at Toronto
citing some of the resolutions
discussdd and the decisions
made.

of Hensall held open night in the
town hall T u e s day evening,
March 4, and were treated to a
visit from the Area Commission
er, Mrs. K. B. CTysdale, St.
Marys. Mothers who were pre
sent were able to see how Guide
and Brownie meetings are con
ducted.
Brownies enrollment included
Judy and Sharon Elder, Gwen
Chapman, Mary Beane, Carol
Ann Rogers, Sharon and Mar
garet Smillie. Gwen Spencer and
Mary Ann Rannie received gold
en bars and golden hands
flew into guides.
Mary Ann Vanhorne was
rolled as a tenderfoot in
guides. First year service stars
were presented to Elsie Smith.
Third year Stars were awarded
to Carol Richardson, Margaret.
Reid, Gladys Moir, Judy Shad
dick, Jean Lavender, Eudora
Hyde, Carol McMurtrie, and
Lola Volland.
Jean Lavender received her
second class badge. Mrs. Clys-
