The February meeting of Holy
Trinity Church W.A, wag held at
the home of Mrs. Frank Hovey
with Mrs, Hovey acting as presi
dent for the day. She was assist
ed in the devotions by Mrs. I.
Underwood, Mrs. Harold Corbett
and Mrs. Jack Murdy. Mrs. T. C.
McFarlane read the Litany and
Miss Lina Abbott the scripture
lesson.
The Rev. L. C. Harrison was
the guest speaker. He spoke first
on the death of our king and
then on WA work and ^expressed
his thanks for the way all the
church organizations had carri
ed on during his long illness.
The “President for a Day"
only lasted one meeting. The
new president is Mrs. Jack Mur
dy. Mrs. Harry Tilbury will take
her position as Dorcas leader
and Mrs. T. C, McFarlane was
appointed secretary in Mrs. Til
bury’s place.The following committee was
appointed to make the nesessary
arrangements for the day of
prayer, Mrs. J. Murdy, Mrs. F.
Hovey and Mrs. Harold Corbett.
Mrs. T. A. Hodgins offered to
take the frst section of the new
study book.
The next meeting will he held
at the home of Mrs. T. C. Mc
Farlane with the following ladies
on the refreshment committee,
Mrs. Irene Coursey, Mrs. Henry
Hodgins and Mrs. Robert Cole
man.
The meeting closed with a
beautiful prayer arrangement by
the Rev. S. W. Semple.

Plan Banquet
The February meeting of the
United Church W.A. was held in
the Church Parlours, Wednesday
afternoon, February 6 with the
president, Mrs. Sheridan Reving
ton pesiding. Mrs. Cecil Robb’s
group had charge of the meeting

Flag Ceremony
A new Union Jack was pur

Newton Benjamin Bevington,
who was ill in Victoria Hospital
for some time, passed away on
Thursday February 7, 1952, in
his fortieth year. He was the
son of the late Benjamin Reving-

A young German immigrant
mother who flew to Canada two
weeks ago with two small child
ren, to join her husband on a
farm, lost one of the infants from
pneumonia on January 31.
