Ladies and gentlemen: I don’t have a sung, But I’ve made me a poem, so we’ll all get along; So sit back in your chairs, and rest for a spell— A week in Guelph is what I will tell. ’Twas on Monday morning December thirty-first I jumped out of bed with an awful burst, I got all ready and went to the gate; Because of some girls, we had to wait. Come Hern, come Brock, come Mavis and Elaine . . We’ll have to hitch-hike if we don’t catch the train We On We We 'VVoWhen all of a sudden, we heard a boom boom. It was that Kerslake (I’m telling the truth) Running down the hall to the telephone booth; He dialed a number to Mack Hall— The old maid answered, I’ll take the call. Robert hung up. I’ll call there again; I hope a nice dish answers and not that old dame. ’Twas the night before New Year’s and a lovely night— We were hollering and singing with all our might. The cop, we didn’t know, was standing there— You guys keep quiet or I will pull your hair! We ran like scared niggers to the back door, Klippity clopp up to our fourth floor. i We opened the shutters and started to yell, II told that old cop he could go to-—a hotel; 1 The hours went on and the days went by . . . Some of the girls were catching our eye. Hern was one who was good and able Foi* he couldn’t deceive his little Mabie; About half through the night back the covers he flung— That stinking old pipe was burning his tongue. This brings us now to about Wednesday night: All in the campus were in their delight. Come Gregus, come Jeffery, come Tuckey and Skinner— I see you boys aren’t getting any thinner. Tuckey was there all in a cloverWhen"Marj wasn’t there Mavis took over; There’s no excuse for Delores and Bruce, He put the Dodge in high, and gave it the juice. Instead of the door, and a lot of red tape Delores went up the fire escape. Thursday night was the last night there— Some of us then were in the Dean’s hair. Robert Hern turned out the lights To try and keep Dougal out of a fight; Also there was Morris Love With earth below and heaven above. We lathered Jeffery with shaving cream, He didn’t know it, he was having a dream; Some one put snow in Kerslake’s bed— It wasn’t me, I was near dead. t On Friday night we had to leave; Our folks at home we couldn’t deceive— For learning and fun, you listen to me, Take next year’s short course at the O.A.C.
