Canada has a big role in the show. And Canada’s primary textile indus try, with the largest manufacturing employment, the largest payroll, and with factories well diversified throughout the smaller communities, is a star player in the Canadian show. Dominion Textile has an important part in all this. Dominion Textile Company Limited In four league games with Mit- [ chell last week E-D.II.S. quintets emerged victorious in all but ; one. The losers being the Jr. Girls went down to a close 38-30 de feat at the hands of the MHS ■ crew. Junior Girls The local Junior Girls went , down to a very close defeat at Mitchell on Friday by a score of 38-30, The game was very close at half-tim© with Exeter being on the short end of 18-17 count. But when the third quarter started the local girls could only score 13 points while the Mit chell team scored 20 points. The Jr, Giris were slightly handi capped as it was the first time for most of them to play in the very small gym and we feel when they play them on our own floor the score should definitely different. The players on the team are: M. Skinner 11, J. Thomson 9, P. Tuekey 7, M. Stewart 2, M. Evans, M. Blanshard, K. Hunter, B. Brintnell, T. Pickard, E. Hern, J. Schenk, R. Soldan. Senior Girls The local Dunlop with their same Friday School loop as they hand ed Mitchell a 33-13 defeat. Af ter a comparatively close 12-8 half-time score the local girls went all out and scored 21 points while holding the Mitchell team to 2 points. The players are: J. Dunlop 16, D. Pooley 6, N. Tieman 4, L. Hill 4, «M. McKnight 3, M. Wil lard, C.'-Blowes, P. Hopper, M. Bray, M. Taylor, M. Thomson, L. Taylor. Senior Boys Probably one of the best games of the season was witnessed in Exeter last Tuesday when Exe ter and Mitchell senioi* boys teamed up for their first meeting of the season. The same rivalry prevailed throught the game as it has in games past as Exeter emerged victorious by a score of 36-25. After trailing 17-9 at half time the local eagers came out and scored 9 points before the Mitchell crew could find the basket. The rest of the game was very close with no more than 2 points separating the two teams until the last 3 minutes when Exeter turned on the pow er* to win the game. Glenn Schroeder was high scorer with 12 points for the Exeter hoopers. The team’s scor-, ing was: G. Schroeder 12, K. Moir 8, R. Heimrich 8, D, O’Brien 5, J. Haberer 3, B. Cudmore, D. McCurdy, D. Adkins, B. Wade, H. Schroeder. Junior Boys The local Jr. Panthers scored a one-sided victory over Mitchell with a 57-13 score. After scor ing a 30-5 half-time score the local boys fell apart and let the visitors score 8 points while only hooping themselves.
