birthday celebration in honor of
Mrs. Charles Hooper, London.
Mrs. Hooper has reached the 80
mark, and is enjoying good
health. Her many friends in this
community wish her many more
happy birthdays.
The congregational meeting
was well attended. Rev. Burton
was chairman and Gordon John
son, secretary. Reports of the
different organizations were giv
en, showing a very successful
year.
Mrs. Bert Duffield was elected
as eldei’ filling the place of Mrs.
Alex Baillie who was the retir
ing elder. Kenneth Hodgson and
Frank Squire were re-elected as
stewards. Gordon Johnson was
re-appointed as congregational
secretary. Auditors are: Mrs.
Klhare and Mr. Alex Baillie. Al
ton Neil was elected on the
Board of trustees to fill the va
cancy of Walter Gunning. Wil
liam Morley Jr., Alton Neil, Gor
don Johnson and Cecil Squire
were appointed on the “Pastoral
Charge” committee.
A vote of thanks to all who
have served so unselfishly dur
ing the past year was passed un
animously.
Rev. Burton expressed appre
ciation to Mr. and Mrs. Baillie
for such fine care of the church
they had given for so many
years. Mrs. Baillie replied.

The annual congregational
meeting of Carmel Presbyterian
Church was held Thursday, Jan
uary 24, with a splendid attend
ance. The chair was taken by
Rev. Donald R. Sinclair, Exeter,
