Celebrate Sixtieth Anniversary Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Mitchell, esteemed residents of Hensall, celebrated. their sixtieth wedding anniversary by holding open house for their friends and rela­ tives afternoon and evening. The reception was followed by a fam­ ily dinner the following day. Their marriage was solemn­ ized in December, 1891, at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Rice, in Hibbert Township by the Rev. E. Ser­ mons, rector of Staffa Anglican Church. They spent their honey­ moon in Toronto, Oshawa and Montreal. They recall that, driv­ ing to the train at Dublin sta­ tion on their wedding day they noticed several farmers plough­ ing, the weather being exception­ ally mild and the ground clear of snow. Upon their return from their honeymoon they settled on the groom's farm in Tuckersmith Township, where they continued to reside until about 25 years ago, retiring to Hensall. Mr. Mitchell is in his eighty- fiith year and Mrs. Mitchell in her eighty-first. Both enjoy good health and were able to attend church at the United Church last Sunday.
