Over 100 people from Grand Bend and surrounding towns and country attended winning around 90 fowl. The proceeds, several hundred dollars, will go to the children’s welfare fund. Among those winning turkeys, geese and chickens were: Mrs. Mary Ravell who-walked away 25 lb. J. W. Doris Laren, others. The who helped make such a fine success. Members are now making arrangements for an open air rink with hopes that it will be ready to open at the end of this week. Mrs. Francis Cassidy and Miss Doris Ravelie spent the week­ end as guests of the former’s parents at Cargill. Mrs. Mollard and Miss Yeo were guests of Mr. Russell Mol­ lard last week-end in W. Lome. Ryckman bowled 596 and 278 for the Dogs and Naida Francois totaled 643 in three games and 247 in one. Five points were taken by the Busy Bees from the Yarn Spin­ ners. Best buzz for the Bees was a 503 triple by A. Cutting. For the Yarn Spinners P. Robin­ son bowled 491 for top score. Another five-point lead was gained by the Crackerjacks in their bout with the Pin Heads. N. Snell bowled 45 6 in three games for the winners and high­ est triple for the Pin Heads was bowled by R. Allard with 562 (231).The contest between the Alley Cats and the Hi-lights was a closer one. The Cats, however, were one point better with the help of a 528 triple by Kay Hay. Kay Hannigan held top place with 641 and 319 for the losing Lights. The Frisky Sisters were true to their name when they took a five-point lead over the Happy Gals. Ollie Essery bowled in top place for the Sisters with 594 (248). Best for the losers was Dot Hall who whammed a 69 8 in three games and 298 in one. The Trailers pulled ahead of the Jolly Jills to take five points. Fastest trailer was D. Frayne with 527 and 205. For the losing Jills, A. Preszcator bowled 478 (201).
