Tgi« OR <SIV< tpnimiKr rniiiiiui Guide Talk About twenty-two shining (shining did we say?—we won der?) faces met Captain on the Legion Hall steps on Monday— except, of course, for the few stragglers, and aftei’ entering the hall, soon went to their Pat rol Corners to talk over a very interesting subject—a mas party! This didn’t last long, tain blew her whistle Call and Inspection. We’re leav? ing inspection entirjey up to the Patrol Leaders now see if they’re afi fussy as Captain. Patrol Corners followed when plans were completed for the Christmas party and registration fees were collected. And for those who forgot their fees, be sure to have them next week. Work period came along next. As we look around the room, we see two blue and white flags flailling the air.—Just Rena and Norma doing semaphore. In an other cornei* was a bunch of re cruits making an noise. I only hope ber what Maxine next weejk. Then we come to astic (I hope) group working on their second class badge. Snce notes were sent home with them for baking, lets hope their moth ers get a little help during the next three weeks. Next week, Captain hops to see some sewing too. Jane Farrow led the Com pany in a stalking game and at the same time passed her stalk ing test. Keep up the good work, Jane. Now for most of the guides came the most exciting part of the meeting, a good old stirring game of Guide Hockey. It seems to be a favourite with our com pany, although the Bull Frogs will have to sharpen up—after all, winning all score like two! ■Campfire : that game much to sing— Captains Bass Shirley is soon eh girls! The Guides next week’s special marks would go to the patrol who had most members with paper pencil in then- pockets. Vesper and Taps ended meeting with Captain taking good night salute. Don’t forget to “Be Prepared” next weed those special marks. Under The Toadstool Taking our weekly peek the Brownies we find fewer num ber than usual waiting to be let into the Legion Hall. We hear these mumps are really awful things to put up with but you do get a little holiday from your studies don’t you. We are told that the Wee Folk are not really admiring themselves in that mirror but are trying hard to part and comb their hair. By the way, will all those who did not bring combs to pass their test please bring them along next week? HowJ about thos notes from Mother too, apparently Ruth Ann McCarter is the only one th&t can clear the dshes so far. of you dig in and help mother and have her Tawny Owl and let her know how well you have done. Well three more girls came through with flying colours in the Golden Bar group and we only hope a few more will do the same next week. After all Brown ies the flag is not really that hard is it? Roxanne took her Safety Rule test and if all the girls do as well we -will few Brownies involved in dents in Exeter. Lets all remember the their is in keeping those and nails clean and breath properly shall we. We see Donna Wells is the only one here in the Golden Hand group and we also see her labourng with that semaphore again. Good Luck Donna, takes a lot of studying it? And what happened to all the Harveys? I guess those germs need watching because Jim Hen nessey has the mumps too. Isn’t it a good thing I’ve had them? “I hear that next week will be a good old test passing week. In other words, boys, if you know anything you think you can pass —get to it this week and see if you can be ready by -Monday. It seems that lots of the boys know their law and promise and three passed in knots. Oh how I wish I could too. “I tried that bowline the other day—started pulling a bench ac ross the floor—thought the knot solid but then what happened, the bench fell over and it made such a noise, I was sure the in vasion of Russian Rats was on. “That’s all I can think of right now so until we see you next week—bye, for me Christ- in the TOBOGGANS write a note to that enthusi- MOCKEYand SKATING a GARAGES HUNTING KNIVES Evening Service st.
