M issionary From Afr ica Speaks To Auxiliary Members of the Willing Work­ ers Evening Auxiliary of James Street United Church heard Mrs. Bowers, wife of Major Bowers, Salvation Army and returned missionary from Africa, at their November meeting. They met at the home of Elsie Hodgins and Mary Kernick’s group was in charge. Mrs? Bowers spoke of exper­ iences with the people of Nigeria and she brought many interest­ ing native articles to display to the ladies. The group thanked her by presenting a box of Christmas cheer. A candlelight service was con­ ducted during the meeting and the ladies devoted a part of their meeting to the singing of Christmas carols. Mrs. Grant Ratcliffe and fam­ ily of Anderson spent Saturday with Mrs. Gilbert Johns. /Fairfield Forum The Fairfield Forum got away to a good start on December 3rd, at the home of George Hep­ burn, with an attendance of 37, The subject “Adult Education” was discussed and the members agreed that the short courses now available at EDHS offered a good opportunity for all. Sev­ eral of the members are taking advantage of them. Also the dis­ trict has very good libraries of which people should make more use. The next meeting will be held at the home of Mr, Elmore Powe.
