J. Pitt united in marriage Helen Marie Erratt. daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Erratt, Varna, and William Harvey Taylor, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Taylor, Brucefield. The thankoffering meeting of the W.M.S. of Carmel' Presby­ terian Church was held on Tues­ day, October 9, in the school room of the church with Mrs. Inez McEwen presiding. The scripture lesson was read by Miss Dora O’Lair after which Mrs. George Walker led in pray­ er, Mrs. William Brown and Mrs, H. C. Bell sang a duet en­ titled “Bless This House’’, ac­ companied by Miss Edith Love. Mrs. Elliott of Ailsa Craig was the guest speaker, present­ ing an inspiring address. A vote of thanks was extended by Mrs. J. Peterson and Mrs. Edwards led in p r a y e r . Refreshments were served at the close. McEwen pleasant Dundas W.M.S. Shower For Bride-Elect A very enjoyable evening was spent on Wednesday last at the home of Mrs. Ross Richardson on the Parr Line when neigh­ bours and friends met to honour Miss Elaine Carlile, bride-elect. Mrs. Don Rigby Blenheim spent with Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Circle Holds Thankoffering Meeting The Arnold Circle Evening Auxiliary held their annual thankoffering meeting in the school room of Carmel Presby­ terian Church on Monday eve­ ning. The members entertained their husbands and friends to a supper, after which Rev. Dun­ canson of Cromarty, guest speak­ er, presented an inspiring ad­ dress. Mrs. Jarrott contributed de­ lightful vocal solos, accompanied by the organist, Mr. Munro. The program was presided over by I the president, Mrs. C. Forrest, Mrs. A. W. Kerslake conducted the worship period during which j Mrs. L. Baynhain read the scrip- j itnre and Mrs. Harry Snell led in ' j prayer. The meeting concluded with prayer by Rev. Duncanson.
