Brothers and sisters of Mr. Schenk and Mrs. Schenk’s only brother, Mr. Leon Hill, of Wind­ sor, were all family dinner when a few were observed and Mrs. Schenk's parents. Many neighbours, friends and relatives called to spend a very enjoyable evening. Hugo Schenk and Marion Dow­ dell were married in London by Rev. G. Gilmour. Bridesmaid was Miss Maleeda Schenk and the groomsman Mr. Leon Hill of Windsor. Both were in attend­ ance at the celebration. Mr. and Mrs. Schenk have two children—Edward, who is man­ ager of Personal Finance Co. in London, and Jeannette, at home. For over 20 years, Mr. Schenk has conducted a thriving meat market in Crediton. Women’s Institute Mrs. Lome Hodge was in charge, when members of Credi­ ton Women’s Institute met on Tuesday evening for the opening meeting of the fall season. Roll call was answered by naming “My Favorite Sandwich Spread”. Articles for exhibition at Exeter Fair were brought in. Presenta­ tions were made to Mrs. H. Schenk and Mrs. G. Zwicker in appreciation of many years of faithful service as president and secretary-treasurer respectively. Mrs. M. Ewald presided for program, when Mrs.' S. Smith gave a paper on Home Econ­ omics. Guest speaker was Rev. A. Glen Eagle. B.A., of Clinton, who brought two very inspiring messages, taking as his subject in the morning “Building the Wall” and in the evening "The Church Triumph­ ant”. Special music was furnished by the choir, solo parts taken, in the morning, by Joyce Cham­ bers and George Stevenson. The guest soloist in the evening was Mr. K. Johns of Elimville. A fusion of flowers adorned the chancel. Visiting congregations were Evangelical United Breth­ ren, Brinsley United and Shipka United. Rally Day Rally Day services were held in the Evangelical U.B. Church School on Sunday. Superintend­ ent Mr. Ray Morlock was in charge and Rev. Getz of Dash­ wood was guest speaker. Pro­ gram was followed by promo­ tion exercises when seven mem­ bersbers of the beginners’ class were promoted to primary class.
