Cromarty, are among the new class that regis­ tered at the Victoria School of Nursing, in London. Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Parsons, of Detroit, spent the holiday week-end with relatives. Mr. and Mrs. John Senn, and Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Senn of Hamilton visited with their cou­ sins, Mr. B. W. F. Beavers and Mrs. Brown over the holiday. Week-end visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Mike Heenan were, Mrs. M. Heenan, Mr. and Mrs. William Murray, Mr. and Mrs. Douglas O’Donnall, Miss Lois Lee and Mr. George Heenan all of Co- bourg. Mrs. H. Heenan is visiting for a week. A very pleasant evening was spent in the Parish hall of St. Patrick’s Church when the Hod­ gins family gathered to honour Mr. W. J. Hodgins and Aletha, of Viking. The evening was spent in singing songs and relating old family experiences Mr. Hodgins and Aletha were presented with a farewell gift from their relatives and both made a very fitting reply. Lunch was served. of interest. SAINTSBURY On Sunday Canon James preached his farewell service in St. Patrick’s Church to a well represented congregation. Their many friends regret that it is time for their departure and all join is wishing them well. Many from the community attended the Armitage Reunion held at Springbank Park Labor Day when 100 members of the reunion sat down to dinner. Th? snorts were under direction of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Powe of Exeter and all enjoyed a good programme of sports followed by baseball and supper. This community was well re­ presented at the annual decora­ tion service held at St. James Clandeboye on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Noels and family were week-end guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Mau­ rice McDonald. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Dickins were Sunday dinner guests at the home of Mrs. W. J. of Lucan. Mrs. L. ' Hodgins and Dickins of Exeter spent at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Heber Davis. Miss Hazel McFalls, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Greenlee and Mr. Hugh Davis have been holidaying in Northern Ontario. Miss Ada Andrews had the misfortune to fall down some steps Friday afternoon of last week fracturing her leg. She was removed to hospital in Lon­ don. The last of the union services of Main Street and James Street United Churches for the summer months was held last Sunday. Services were held in the morn­ ing only and were fairly well at­ tended. Miss Shirley Langford returned to her teaching duties in Tor­ onto on Monday after spending her vacation at Ipperwash Beach. Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Williams and June of Port Hope were week-end visitors with relatives in Exeter. Mrs. C. J. Staples, Who had spent the last two weeks with Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Jolins, returned home with xthem. Other winners in the same class were: Fred Haters, Hensall, Jack Wilson, Chepstow. In the class under do years Cecil Maxwell, Hensall, placed first. Hensall Public School re-open­ ed Tuesday with 120 on the roll and IS new beginners in grade 1. The staff will include princi­ pal J. F. Blackwell, Miss R. Avery, Miss Winnifred Gray, and Miss Margaret Schieck of Alma. This will be the first term for Miss Schieck. Clark Sr. The re-opening of the Hensall United Church after being clos­ ed for renovation will be held Sunday, September 9, and 16, at 11 a.m. Two former pastors will be present for the occasion. Rev. A. Sinclair, Windsor, Sept. 9, Rev. R. A. Brook, Bluevale, Sept. 16. A new pulpit bible will be dedicated Sunday Sept. 9, and music will be furnished at both services by the newly gown­ ed choir.
