Win By Five Runs
The morale of the Dashwood
Girls was as bright as the new
uniforms they sported Friday
night in the game played on
their home field with Exeter.
The spirit carried Dashwood
through to break the tie in the
last of the eighth inning when
Love hit a long, high fly-ball
out past the reach of any Exeter
fielders. The fly brought in two
runs and began a streak of luck
which gave the Dashwood girls
a five run lead.
Although the greys pulled up
their socks in the first of the
fourth inning when Hodgins hit
a liome-run and brought in two
others, they failed to come up to
the mark in their last chance at
bat and the game ended With a
score of 13-8 for Dashwood.
Batteries for Exeter were;- Mc
Coy, Essery and Taylor, and for
Daslrwood: Pickering and Webb.
