Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Shiei’ will have been 68 years married on Valentine’s Day and Mr, and Mrs, J. A. Kirkby will mark their 68th an­ niversary next Sunday, February 11. Mr. Shier and the former Elizabeth Beatty, both of Blan­ shard township pioneer families, were married at the home of the bride’s parents at Kirkton, and a few of the 70 guests are still living, Mr. and Mrs. Shier farm­ ed until retiring 21 years ago. Mr. and Mrs. Kirkby, the form­ er Nancy Beavers, also grew up in Blanshard. They left their farm 32 years ago.
