Meeting The new R.C.A.F. chaplain, Father Wight, opened the meet­ ing with the League prayer. Three new members registered and plans were made to donate Christmas hampers for needy families. The president, Mrs, attended a diocesan on November 26 at Rectory, London. Father Wight has rangements for Catechism classes to be held at the station chapel Saturday mornings at 11 o'clock. A driz­ zling rain fell Sunday and the streets were quite slushy. Rain fell during the night and by morning the snow had all dis­ appeared. A heavy fog blanketed the area Sunday night, making motoring hazardous. Mrs J . W. Powell spent the week-end in St. Thomas .with her cousin, Mrs, Powles. On Tuesday, Mr. anf Mrs. William Pearce visited sisters of the former, Mrs. A. E. Willson, St. Thomas, and Mrs. J. A. Or­ chard, Shedden, Mrs. Thomas Harvey, aged 8 2, suffered a slight stroke Sunday morning at the home of her son Ernest C. Harvey. She is at pres­ ent making a satisfactory re­ covery, Mr. and Mrs, Charles White and Carol Ellen and Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Roberts and Francine Elizabeth, of London, visited with the parents of the two ladies, Mr, and Mrs, William Welsh. The children were bap­ tised at James Street United Church on Sunday morning. Fprn Short, of St. Thomas, visited with Mr. and Welsh. Mr. and Mrs. E. D. Carols were sung during the offering by seven scholars, Jean­ ette Taylor, Patricia Cann, Jan­ ice Hamilton, Ruby Parsons, Douglas Wein, Lloyd Moore, and Bobby Pooley. A story was told by the superintendent, Mrs. Car- frey Cann. Mr. Snell spoke briefly. The sum of $52 was received in cash, which is being present­ ed to the Orphanage in London, while the gifts received are be­ ing sent to Halifax for distribu­ tion among the children coming to Canada from overseas.
