Mr. and Mrs. Percy Passmore, Alice, and Mr, and Mrs, lames Earl, of Zion, returned home on Friday night after a two-week motor trip to New Brunswick. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Gardiner returned home on Saturday last after spending three weeks motor trip through Western ada, Communion service was attended on Sunday last. Misses Lois Pym and Bray of London spent the end at their homes here. Mr. and Mrs. Edwin visited on Sunday with Mr. and Mbs. Warren Brock at Zion and with Mr. and Mrs. Janies Miller at Woodham. We are sorry ’to report that Mr. Harold Rowe was admitted to St. Josephs Hospital in Lon­ don last week. His many friends wish him a speedy recovery to health again. The W.M.S. and W.A. met at the manse on Wednesday eve­ ning of this week. Mr. and Mrs. John Dalrymple and family visitd on Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. John Dalrymple at Roys. Mr. and Mrs. Garnet Wildfong were Sunday visitors with friends in London. Mr. Fred Hopcroft of Halifax spent the week-end with his par­ ents. Fred was in charge of a German prisoner. Rev. and Mrs. Getz attended the wedding of his brother in Brucefield on Saturday. Mr. Williams of Bowmanville spent a few days with his daugh­ ter, Mr. and Mrs. Lome Klein* stiver. Mr. and Mrs. Elgin Merner spent the week-end here. They moved their household effects to Kitchener on Tuesday where Elgin has secured employment. On Monday evening the Bridge Club met at the home of Mrs. T. Harry Hoffman, when Mrs. ster­ ner was presented with a cup and saucer. Library Board Visits Huron County Library The members of the Library Board visited the Huron’ County Library headquarters at Gode­ rich on Tuesday to inspect the display of new books. As more people are becoming interested in reading, the Dashwood branch has secured a second unit of 100 books which are exchanged every ■ three months. Books were also purchased for our permanent library on needlecraft, cooking, nursing, etiquette, traved and a good selection for ^children. This makes an approximate number of 30'0 books for the Dashwood Library. The board hope this will be an incentive for people to become members of the local library. Bridge Club Meets The first meeting of tire sea­ son of the G.N.O. Bridge Club was held at the home oE the President, Mrs. Howard Klumpp. It was decided that the present officers should continue for an­ other year.
