Mrs. Wib Mitchell; and her granddaughter and her husband, Mr. , and Mrs. James Lomax, formerly of Winnipeg, now living in Toronto; also her and her husband, Mr. Alex Johns and their Betty, from London. Mr. Mr. was daughter and Mrs. daughter Miss Joan Parsons has accept­ ed a position as grocery clerk with Southcott Bros. Mr. William Pym, of Clinton, visited recently with Mr. and Mrs. Ewart Pym and family. Mr. Pym is now vacationing with Mr, James Horne at Woodham. Mr. and Mrs. Mel Alderson, Carole and Bonnie, and Mr. and Mrs. Bert M eBurney, of Embro, have returned from a three-week motor trip through western Can­ ada and United States as far as Banff and Lake Louise. H. Sproat of Seaforth. Miss Marion Brintnell, a mem­ ber of the commercial class of 1948-49 of the Exeter District High School, has secured a posi­ tion with the Huron and Erie Insurance Company, London. Miss Dorene Proctor left last week for Clinton, where she will attend the Clinton Commerce. Mrs. James Smith indisposed for several an injured knee. Howey has been relieving at the library in her absence, Mr. and Mrs. Max Harness and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Har­ ness, London, are holidaying at North Bay and Matawa this week. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Delbridge returned last Thursday .from a holiday trip to Victoria B.C. and Virden. Mr. and Mrs. Oren Winer, of Hamilton, visited with the form­ er’s mother, Mrs. .William Winer, and other relatives and friends over the week-end. Vice Air Marshall E. Middle­ ton, Mrs. Middleton, , and son John, Trenton, spent the week­ end with Mr. and Mrs. F. G. Forrester. Miss Frances Taylor is attend­ ing normal school at London. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Gunning attended the wedding of their nephew, Mr. Ivan Johnston, Lon­ don, at St, Marys on Saturday, Mrs. George T h o m s o n and children from Lucan, with her sister, Mrs. Penberthy, who flew from Victoria, B.C., to Toronto, visited for several days with Mr. and Mrs. Thomson, Exeter. Mrs. R. G. Eckmeir, county librarian, visited the Exeter Lib­ rary on Tuesday morning for the quarterly exchange of county books. Miss Gwenneth Jones left last week for Toronto to take on a p e r m a n e n t position with the Central Y.W.C.A. there. Mr. Everet Brown, of London, spent the week-end with Mr. and Mrs. James Hookey. McKnight & Walper are re­ novating the back of their store to include a boys* department. The tailoring shop will be moved into a new addition at the back and the present shop’s floor will be lowered to house a separate boys' department. Mrs. D.
