Mrs. Junior Institute Meets The September meeting of the South Huron Junior Institute was held in the Exeter High School on Wednesday , evening with Donpo Mitchell, first vice- presi­ dent, presiding. Lucille Boyce gave the slogan“Readmore, know more, and broaden your mind”. The roll call was*”My fall color”. Current events were given by Kathleen May. ”Panel Discussion op Fall Styles” led by Anna Brock and assisted by June Miller, Patsy Mitchell, Shirley Boyce, Lucille Boyce and Donna McFalls proved instructive and very interesting. Over 100 descendents of the Armitage family sat down to dinner and supper and en­ joyed a full afternoon of sports. Mr. and Mrs. R. Greenlee and Mr. and Mrs.' E. Greenlee and Larry were supper guests with Mr. and Mrs. H. Davis on day. We are sorry to report Mr. Wes Culbert is ill in a don hospital. We all hope for a speedy recovery. The W.A. of St. Patrick’s church held a quilting in the parish hall on Wednesday after­ noon. The quilt, when completed, will go to Mr. and Mrs. Herman Walls, whose home was destroyed by fire earlier this year. ■ Mr. and Mrs. A. Elston Mr. and Mrs. E. Harry Dbugall gave a report of the County directors meeting. Jean Cann, Ross Ker“ cher and Russel Ferguson were appointed to look after the Public Speakipg Contest. The Juniors decided to have a “Hard Time Party” which will be held in the latter part of October with Margaret Dougall, Velma Ferguson, Johnny David­ son and Harry Hern in charge. A sing song led by Harry Hern and Gordon Bennett at the piano was enjoyed, and those taking part on the program were — instrumental by Eileen Jeffrey; solo by Frances Lostell; violin solo by June Walters; reading by Velma Ferguson; solo by .Johnny Davidson. Margaret Dougall was accompanist. Lunch served by the girls brought the evening to a close. Mr. spent Sunday in Kincardine and Southampton. Rev. and Mrs. J. V. Dahms were in Roseville on Sunday where Rev. Dahms conducted an­ niversary services. Morning ser­ vice in the Evangelical Church was conducted by Mr. Bert Carr of Dashwood. Mr. Carr was a former resident of Crediton and ■his many friends were glad to welcome him back and enjoyed his very inspiring message. Service in the Evangelical Church was evening in anniversary. Rally Day the United when a combined service will be held in the church auditorium at 11:30 o’clock. Program will provided by members of church school. Anniversary services will held in the United Church Sunday, September 25. Rev. Ma­ honey of Exeter will be the guest speaker and music will be furnished by the church choir, under the direction of sei Johnston. Mr. and Mrs. P. G. of Essex visited on with Mrs. Leona Hill. Prayer, was offered by several ladies. W.A. business was conducted by Mts. Ed Chambers. Reports Were given by the treasurer and com­ mittees and it was decided to hold the bazaar on Saturday, November 5. A new member was welcomed into the society and a social time enjoyed. Mrs. (iter.)
