A “hidden hole” competition was held gt Grand Bend on Wednes­ day afternoon. Arrangements are being nfade fo play R.C.A.F. Station Trentbn at the Pine Point Club at Toronto in the near future. A competition is also being organized with Ayl­ mer, During »the summer it is planned that every club member will have a chance to play away from the unit least once. » The officers living at Grand Bend are organizing a softball team and intend to challenge the officers of Exeter to a match in the near future. * * * * The station baseball team has played four games to date with one game tied and three lost. On Thursday, night the team plays Clinton Radar at Centralia and on Friday night Zurich at ■Centralia. The team’s manager S/L Macnab has been posted to Ottawa and a new manager will be picked soon. Whs held in the school- roohx of the church on Tuesday evening of last week, Mrs. Mur­ ray Elliott was leadei* and opened the meeting with the Call to Worship. The, hymn "o Day of Rest and Gladness” was sung. A number from the commun­ ity attended the district annual of the Woman’s Institute at Ivan United Church on Wednesday last, Mrs. Beatrice Dixon, who for the past two years has been district president of the North Middlesex .Institute, has retired. Mrs. Wilson of Granton was elected district president. Two young wives were busily engaged in conversation at a party. “Does your husband snore in his sleep?” asked one. The benediction was pro­ nounced and the president was invited to the chair for the business. It was decided to enter­ tain the members of the Baby Band With the mothers at the July meeting. The program is to be in charge of the regular com­ mittee for that month. T w o neighbouring societies are to be invited to our August meeting and the Conference Branch dele­ gate Will be invited as guest speaker.
