The bride- to-be had to burst a number of balloons to secure her directions as tQ’j where the presents were hidden. The girls divided into groups and with newspapers and pins proceeded to dress a bride, the winning bride being Elsie Gaiser. A delightful lunch was served at the close. Harold Peter A public funeral service held in the Atwood rest- pro- was the Atwood United Churcr on Thursday afternoon of last weak for Harold Peter who, when able, was an active work­ er in the church. He was a former ' Sunday School teacher and merfiber of the official board of the church. Rev. G. T. Simp­ son conducted the service. A solo, “Beyond the Sunset,’’ was stfbg by Cameron Dickson. The pallbearers were William Adapis, Fred F i s h e r, E. W. Vipond, William Donaldson, Alvin McKee and Charles Laidlaw. The flower bearers were: F. C. Liersch, William Bennett, Fred Long, Clarence Blatchford, Nor m a n Anticknap and Melvin King. Relatives and* friends attending the funeral from a distance were from Exeter, Centralia, Wood­ ham, Goderich, London, Palm­ erston, Owen Sound, Mitchell, Munro and Listowel. Interment was in Elma centre cemetery. Hurondale Institute The meeting of the Hurondale Women’s Institute was held at the home of Mrs. Robert Jeffrey on Wednesday, March 30 w with a good atendanee. ' The meeting opened byc singing “The Ode” followed by “The Institute Creed”. The roll call was answer­ ed by exchanging of seeds, bulbs or slips. The minutes were read and approved, followed by the correspondence. The report of the baking sale held March 19, showed a return of $55. It was ■moved that the Institute send $25 to War Memorial Hospital., Mrs. Pym gave the report of the emergency committee. Mrs. C. Cann and Mrs. H. Love are the nominating committee for the annual meeting to be held at Mrs. Alvin Moir’s A pot luck supper will be served at 6:30 after which the meeting be held. Mrs. J. Mr, and Mrs. Clayton Frayne spent the week-end in Sarnia at the home of their son Jack. Mr. and Mrs, N.T. Jefferies of Sarnia visited over the week-end with the latter’s mother, Mrs, Hannigan. Mr. and Mrs. H, V. Hutton of Brantford visited with Mr. and Mi'S, T. Q. Southcott over the week-end. Mr, and Mrs. George Wright, while motoring neai' London on Sunday evening, saw what is be­ lieved to be a meteor. A bright flash- illuminated the sky. Mr. and Mrs. Charles W. Goodman, of Detroit Mich., spent the week-end .with the latter’s father, Mr. Charles Schroeder, Mr. and Mrs. Lavern Christie and son, Rbbert, of Toronto, spent several days last week with Mr. and Mrs. William J. Thomson and Mr. C. W. ‘Christie.
