Mrs, Hern, who was a life-long resident of the Norwich district, had been a member of Knox Presbyterian Church for more than fifty years and was organ­ ist and choir leader thirty-one years. For twenty-six years she assisted her husband as church treasurer. She was a past presi­ dent of the Ladies’ Aid and the W.M.S. Fox* years she was an officer in Paris Presbyterial of the Presbyterian Church, was a charter member matron of the Norwich O.E.S., and president local W.C.T.U. at the her death. She was a former president of the Norwich Horti­ cultural 'Society and was active in many other community pro­ jects.
