At Hullett Central Public School,
Mrs. Thompson’s Grade 1 class had
some unique ideas about how Santa
and Mrs. Claus met and,
surprisingly, none of them included
online dating.
“Santa and Mrs. Claus met in a
winter wonderland when they were
playing tag. Santa tagged Mrs. Claus
and then they fell in love.”
Ashley K. from Seaforth.
“Mrs. Claus and Santa were at a
dance party in London and they saw
each other. Santa thought she was
cute so they got married and then got
a lot of elves.”
Macey A. from outside of
Clinton.
“Santa and Mrs. Claus were going
down a hill sledding together, they
were having fun and then they got to
the bottom they wanted to get
married. The hill was far, far away
somewhere and they fell in love on
it.”
Kiersten B. from Auburn.
“When Santa was getting ready to
deliver all the presents, Mrs. Claus
was sneaking in the North Pole and
she saw him through the window.
Then they went somewhere together
to a party and got married after.”
Caitlyn B. from Auburn.
“Maybe the elves said to Mrs.
Claus that she should get together
with Santa. They set up a meeting in
Blyth because all of their friends live
there.”
Kayla C. from Auburn.
“Maybe an elf knew them both
and introduced them to each other at
the North Pole near Santa’s
workshop. They made toys together
and had some cookies together and
then they went to bed together. Then
they got married.”
Shea C. from the Blyth area.
“Santa and Mrs. Claus first grew
up together in London then they
started going out last Friday. They
aren’t really married, they just have
the same name and live together and
share a bed to stay warm. On Friday,
they got dinner at Crabby Joe’s and
then they went to get a drink, then
they went to make toys and then they
gave the toys away.”
Connor D. from Blyth.
“Mrs. Claus and Santa were
snowboarding and then they got
married. They were snowboarding in
Blyth because there’s usually a lot of
snow there by the arena. They got
married in Londesborough because
the church there is nicer than the one
in Blyth.”
Cassie E. from Londesborough.
“Maybe Mrs. Claus took Santa’s
sleigh without asking and they met
when he had to get it back. They saweach other and then got married inClinton because they like Clinton.”Sophia G. from Londesborough.“Maybe Santa and Mrs. Clauswere at a friend’s house on the otherside of the country. They were
meeting with their friend, since they
were both friends with him. They
decided to marry each other. They
got married at a ball.”
Nathan H.-L. from Blyth.
“Maybe Mrs. and Mr. Claus met
when they saw each other in the only
coffee shop in the North Pole, or
maybe at the only hot chocolate
shop or maybe the elves introduced
them. Anyway, they had a snowball
fight with each other and when theywere done they wanted to marryeach other.”Kaleb M. from Blyth.“Santa and Mrs. Claus met atsomeone else’s wedding. I don’tknow what happened, because I
wasn’t there, but they went on a date
to a pizza place in Blyth because
that’s closer to the North Pole than
Londesborough is. They fell in love
when they ate pizza together.”
Landyn M. from
Londesborough.
“Maybe, because Santa and Mrs.
Claus were both delivering presents,
they met each other. Then they got
Over the past few years, the use of candles in the home has greatly increased — and
so has the number of fires caused by candle misuse. The Ontario fire service offers
the following tips for the safe use of candles.
Secure your candles in sturdy holders and, if possible, place glass chimneys or
shades on them. Keep lit candles out of the reach of children and pets. and well away
from any combustible materials. An unattended candle is an invitation to disaster, so
don't forget to snuff out your candles before leaving the room or going to bed.
Remember to keep all matches and lighters out of the sight and reach of children.
