Anne Christine Fitzgerald of
Brussels and formerly of Lucknow,
passed away at her residence on
Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012. Born in
Kincardine Township on Jan 3,
1938, Anne was in her 75th year.
Anne was the beloved mother of
Darryl Wisser of Wingham, Mary
and Alfred Mawhinney of Brussels,
Helen Crawford and Dale of Gorrie,
Robert and Tammy Wisser of
Brussels and Linda and Steve
Cameron of Listowel.
Anne was the dear sister of Keith
Fitzgerald of London. She was also
loved by her 10 grandchildren, 16
great-grandchildren and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents
Bert and Liz, her brother Donald and
her sister Helen in infancy.
Cremation has taken place. Anne’s
cremated remains were interred in
Kincardine Cemetery on Saturday,
Dec. 8. Rev. Father Keith Morrison
officiated.
As an expression of sympathy,
memorial donations to the Brussels
Public Library Renovation Fund
would be appreciated by the family.

ARNOLD RILEY
Arnold Riley of RR 1,
Londesborough passed away
peacefully at his residence, with his
wife by his side, after a lengthy
battle with cancer, on Saturday, Dec.
8, 2012. He was in his 74th year.
Arnold was the beloved husband
of Bev (Wright) Riley and loving
father of Andy (Jenn) Riley, RR 1,
Londesborough and Vicky (Todd)
Riley, Goderich. He was the much-
loved grandfather of Damian Riley.
Arnold will be sadly missed by his
friend Puggy. He was the dear
brother and brother-in-law of
Carman and Betty Riley,
Londesborough; Marie and Bruce
Kelly, Thunder Bay; Eileen
McGregor, Clinton; Garnet and
Margaret Wright, Londesborough;
and Janice and Joe Eveleigh,
London. Arnold will also be
missed by several nieces and
nephews.
Friends are invited to a celebration
of life service at the Londesborough
Lions Hall, Londesborough on
Friday, Dec. 14. The service will
commence at 2 p.m. followed by a
gathering until 5 p.m. Private family
interment will be at Hope Chapel
Cemetery, Hullett Township.
In lieu of flowers, memorial
donations to the Alexandra Marine
and General Hospital, Goderich, the
Clinton Public Hospital Foundation,
the Londesborough United Church
or the Clinton Kinsmen Club would
be greatly appreciated. Funeral
arrangements are entrusted to

Obituaries
Huron East Council wants a list of
what needs to be repaired at the
Vanastra Recreation Centre.
At the Dec. 4 meeting of council,
Councillor Les Falconer asked when
such a list might be prepared by
building supervisor John Hill.
Falconer said that the first meeting
of the fundraising committee has
already taken place and that a lot of
good ideas were raised at that
meeting.
Chief Administrative Officer Brad
Knight said the municipality is
hoping to apply for a Trillium grant
in July for the project that they hope
to start next November.
While several ideas had been
discussed as to the future of the
“hall” portion of the building,
including a gym with a rock-
climbing wall, Falconer said the
consensus of those at the meeting
was that the space should be left as a
hall.
He said it is also the easiest way to
proceed. He said that if the kitchen
had to be moved or altered that there
is a whole new series of inspections
