It is not where I wanted him but where God wanted him to be. He was here but just a moment like a night time shooting star. And though he is in Heaven he isn't very far. He touched the heart of many like only an Angel can do. I would have held him every minute if in the end I knew. So I send this special message to the Heaven up above. Please take care of my Angel and send him all my love. Continued from page 24 develop a discussion paper that takes a serious look at some of the issues facing the industry. Wheeler identified some very challenging questions facing the industry. Just some of the questions include – do Canadian supply management systems in 2012 protect producer and processor interests at the expense of sector growth, investment, job creation and innovation? Does the system fail to respect and serve the public interest? Does the system fail to encourage efficiency and in some instances block efficiency gains? Wheeler looks at each of these questions, and more, identifying where the current system succeeds and fails in today’s environment. Through that process, a key vulnerability emerges – at what level of product importation does the supply managed system fail in its purpose of filling domestic markets? The trend-lines consistently show that more and more product is being filled through imports of one kind or another. Wheeler concludes the paper with a number of recommendations from his point of view on how the industry can work to solve this problem. At this point in time, Wheeler’s discussion paper is not the official CFFO position on the future of supply management. We will be meeting with our membership to discuss the issues raised and the solutions proposed in the year ahead. The Task Team and Jim Wheeler have taken the first steps in identifying important challenges for supply management in the future, and soon we will be calling on our membership and others to provide their thoughts on this important policy matter. The Majestic Women’s Institute were guests of the Walton Women’s Institute on Nov. 21. The members met at the activity room at Huronlea. President Ruth Axtmann opened the meeting with a reading and all members sang the Institute Ode and repeated the Mary Stewart Collect. Secretary- Treasurer Helen Craig read the minutes. Brenda Perrie conducted a fun game. Door prizes, consisting of products dealing with footcare were won by several ladies. The Walton WI served a tasty lunch of fruit and cookies.
