Burgundy beats Ripley 7-0
The Blyth Brussels Atom Local
League Burgundy team hosted
Ripley on Saturday, Nov. 17 in
Blyth and recorded a 7-0 win.
The team was off to a great start in
the first period by putting five goals
in the net before the buzzer sounded
for the second.
Simon Johnston, Rylee Chalmers,
Cole Zwep and Blake Porter
received passes from Tim Vincent
and Nathan Brown to get on the
scoreboard in the first.
Porter received a pass from
Carson Heise and put the puck past
the pads to end the second period.
Cole Zwep got the lone goal in the
third unassisted.
The team did a great job keeping
up the passing and team work
throughout the game.
The team next takes to the ice on
Dec. 8 in Goderich against the
Sailors and then hosts the
Kincardine Kinucks at the Blyth and
District Community Centre on Dec.
10 and the Kinucks 2 on Dec. 15 at
the Brussels, Morris and Grey
Community Centre.

O’REILLY VISITS PEEWEES
The Blyth Brussels Minor Hockey
Association PeeWee Reps were
given a nice surprise at their practice
last Wednesday night as Colorado
Avalanche centre Ryan O’Reilly
stopped by to show the kids some
drills they can use this season.
O’Reilly is still awaiting the NHL
lockout to be over and during that
time he has been very gracious with
his time to several minor hockey
teams in the area.
After putting the kids through
some great new drills he was nice
enough to take the time for pictures
and autographs for each child.
On behalf of the PeeWee reps,
thanks for your time and investment
in the children.
Burgundy keeps it going

Centre by a score of 3-2. Eariler in the week they triumphed over the Zurich Thunder, shown
above, by a score of 6-2, again in Brussels. (Jim Brown photo)
