Cardiff family visits to celebrate matriarch’s birthdayIt’s a little unsettling to suddenlyrealize on Tuesday afternoon that what you wrote on Monday morningfor the newspaper was not right. A gasp, a laugh and then an oh dearme. Probably only the yellow birdand I need the correction. You see,the little bird I told you about last
week at Joan’s place is really a
budgie. Oh yes a budgie, not a
canary. It’s still flying with the
sparrows, chirping at select people
and eating well. There that’s cleared
and hopefully my mind will stay
focused today and the budgie will
make her way indoors.
Speaking of focus, I don’t think
Audrey Cardiff was able to
concentrate very well at church on
Sunday. It was her birthday and by
the time worship began, her family
had snuck in all around her.
Meanwhile Jack looked pretty
innocent from his choir pew. Their
six children made it to Brussels forthe day-long party with many of thegrandchildren coming as well. Theycame from Morris, Listowel,
Kitchener, Flesherton, St. Mary’s
and Grindrod, British Columbia to
celebrate Mom’s significant
birthday. So recover from your day
of celebration and many happy times
ahead.
The ministry exchange continued
this week for the United Churches in
North Huron. Rev. Richard Hall
from Wingham led us while Pastor
Sandra went to Wingham. Sharing

Branch hosts Lions
By Jo-Ann McDonald
We send out our get-well wishes
to a couple of Comrades this week.
Comrade George Adams is a patient
in London Hospital and is dealing
with pneumonia. We hope he
recovers soon and is back home.
Comrade Jim Alton was a patient in
London as well after having surgery
on his leg. We hope he is out and
about real soon. The flu has hit quite
a few other Comrades and we hope
everyone is feeling better soon.
The Branch hosted its first Lions
Club dinner on Monday evening.
They enjoyed a roast beef dinner
