gardening, canning, playing cards,
game shows, writing to her family
and sewing flannelette blankets. She
was always ready to take the five
grandkids overnight.
In 2002 Cecil and Lou moved to
the Kerr apartments in Brussels. A
few years later they moved to
Huronlea where she enjoyed her stay
very much.

Senior students from HullettCentral Public School will continue
the school news column started by
students at Blyth Public School.
This year’s student writers will be
Colton Rodger, Morgan Howson,
Ben Stewart and Jenna McDonald.
Hi, my name is Colton Rodger.
I’m 13 years old and live outside of
Auburn. I’m one of the writers for
the Hullett Central Public School
column in The Citizen. My favourite
sport is hockey and my favourite
hobby is hunting. I’m in Grade 8
and have a brother in Grade 10
named Connor. I also have a little
sister who is in Grade 6 whose name
is Michaela. My parents are Neil
and Tracy Rodger.
My family and I live on a swine
farm which my dad runs and my
mom works at Community Living.
A sport I enjoy doing besides
hockey and hunting is showing
cattle. My grandpa and grandma
have beef cattle and they lend us a
few cattle every year to show. There
is a show on Friday in Seaforth and
another on Saturday at Lucknow.
At home we have two cats and
two dogs. The cats’ names are Milo
and Happy and the dogs’ names are
Levi and Hudson. The two dogs are
both white with caramel ears and the
two cats are grey and brown. I look
forward to writing for you each
week.
My name is Morgan Howson. Iam a 13-year-old girl. I live in Blyth
and will also be informing you all
about what is happening at Hullett
Central. I am currently attending
Hullett Central Public School in my
last year of public school. Outside of
my education I like to play hockey,
horseback ride and hang out with
friends and family. In my family
there are five of us. I have two
brothers: Colin who is 11 and Joel
who is eight, along with my one pet
which is a golden doodle dog named
Max. My parents names are Jeff and
Diane Howson and my grandparents
are Doug and Barb Howson of Blyth
and Bob and Ruth Campbell of
Winthrop. When I get older and go
to post-secondary school I would
like to go through as a chartered
accountant. Well, that’s what I
currently want to do.
My name is Ben Stewart, I am 13
and I live in Walton. Some of my
hobbies are dirt biking, reading,
paintballing and karate. I have lived
in Walton since I was six and I went
to Blyth Public School but now in
my final year of public school I am
attending Hullett Central Public
School in Londesborough.
Now that I am with the newspaper
crew, I will be informing all of the
citizens about things going on inside
the school, I hope that I will do a
