Threshers weekend For the better part of a week Blyth’s population increased substantially as the Blyth Campground was filled with the members and visitors to the annual reunion of the Huron Pioneer Thresher and Hobby Association. Events were held across town and throughout the week, including, clockwise from top-left, a plowing demonstration just outside of Blyth, blacksmithing and silversmithing demonstrations on the grounds, vendors in the Blyth and District Community centre, a firefighters’ breakfast at the Blyth Emergency Services Training Centre (ESTC), old-fashioned children’s activities like butter-churning and, of course, threshing demonstrations. A gallery of photos from the event can be viewed on The Citizen’s website at www.northhuron.on.ca (Denny Scott, Jim Brown photos)
