EDNA ELAINE PEARSON
Edna E. (McWilliam) Pearson of
Brussels passed away peacefully
with her family by her side at
Clinton Public Hospital, on Tuesday,
Aug. 14, 2012. She was 94.
Edna was a member of both Ethel
and Brussels United Churches, the
Ethel Women’s Institute and a past
member of the Brussels Curling
Club.
Edna was the beloved wife of the
late Alex Pearson and is survived by
her loving children Dan and Mary-
Jane, Scott and Gail, Steve, and Joan
and Barry Hatcher, her daughters-in-
law Hélène Brossard, Teri Pearson,
and her many grandchildren, great-
grandchildren and great-great-
grandchildren.
She is also survived by her sister
Audrey Hunt and sisters-in-law
Mary McWilliam, Edna Pearson
(Ralph) and Florence Gibson (Jim).
Edna is predeceased by her sons
Jim and Doug, her brothers Weston
and Arthur and sister Beatrice
Hatton.
Edna will also be sadly missed by
the Pearson family.
Friends were received by the
family two hours prior to the funeral
service conducted on Friday, Aug.
17 from the Schimanski Family
Funeral Home. Pastor Sandra Cable
officiated.
Pallbearers were Dan Pearson Jr.,
Tom Pearson, Stefanie Pearson, Alex
Pearson, Philip Pearson and Adam
Hatcher.
Burial took place in Mount
Pleasant Cemetery, Ethel.
As an expression of sympathy,
memorial donations can be made to
the Brussels United Church or to the
charity of one’s choice.

ROSS PATTERSON
Ross Patterson of Seaforth,
formerly of Brussels, passed away
peacefully at Stratford General
Hospital on Friday, Aug. 17, 2012.
He was 74.
Ross will be remembered as a
long-time rural mail carrier for
Brussels and Meals on Wheels
volunteer and more recently for his
shopping excursions around town on
his scooter and his love for Kentucky
Fried Chicken.
Ross was the father of Lori
Patterson of Goderich, Brian
Patterson of Cambridge and Gary
Patterson and friend Melyssa Holtz
of Cambridge. He was the brother
and brother-in-law of Jean and Cliff
Brown of Tiverton, Ruth and Mike
Burke of Mitchell’s Bay and Pauline
Patterson and friend Tom Strachan
of Mitchell. He will be fondly
remembered by many nieces and
nephews.
Ross was predeceased by his
parents Roy and Bernice (Thomas)
Patterson and his brother Jim (2002).
Cremation has taken place. There
will be no funeral home visitation or
service. Interment in Elma Centre
Cemetery will take place at a later
date.
As expressions of sympathy,
memorial donations to the Canadian
Cancer Society or Stratford General
Hospital would be appreciated by
the family.

LEONARD CHISHOLM
Leonard Chisholm passed away
peacefully with his family at his side
at Maitland Manor Nursing Home,
Goderich on Tuesday, July 31, 2012.
He was 85.
Leonard is survived by his loving
wife Olive (nee Payne) of 57 years.
He was the dear father of Alex
(Betty Anne), Colin (Anne), Virginia
Caesar (David) and Leola Hartung
(Donald).
Leonard will be sadly missed by
his eight grandchildren Jack, Scott
(Nicole) and Katie Chisholm,
Colleen (Patrick) and Mallory
Caesar, Luke (Crystal), Chantelle
and Ben Hartung.
Leonard is survived by sister
Marie (Murray) Oke and brother
Raymond. He was predeceased by
his parents Jack and Mary (nee
McCourt) Chisholm, brother
Ronald and sister-in-law Patricia
Chisholm.
In keeping with Leonard’s wishes
there will be no funeral home
visitation. A private family
service was held Friday, Aug. 3.
If so desired donations may
be made to the Pastoral Ministry of
Maitland Manor Nursing Home or
the Alzheimer Society.
Interment was in St. Augustine
Cemetery.
