The Township of North Huron is accepting applications for the position
of Director of Public Works.
The Director is responsible for management of the Public Works
Department. Responsibilities include drafting capital and operating
budgets, setting priorities for work, staff supervision, establishing
policies and advising Council and Committees on related matters.
Responsibilities also include directing the installation, maintenance,
operation and delivery of services for roads, sidewalks, waste collection
and disposal, landfill operations and cemetery maintenance, and
monitoring and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Five years related work experience, preferably management
experience in a municipal environment.
• In-depth knowledge of construction practices, budgeting, and
project management skills.
• Certified Road Supervisor (CRS).
• Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) or equivalent diploma.
The ideal candidate will have the ability to deal effectively, courteously,
and tactfully with North Huron Council and staff, contractors and the
general public. Salary, including benefit package, will be in accordance
with the 2012 salary range (revised) and will be commensurate with
qualifications and experience. A copy of the job description is available
