Brussels Homecoming The 140th Brussels Homecoming saw the village hopping from Friday night to Sunday: Stephen Ainlay, a descendant of the first settlers of Ainleyville, which later became Brussels, spoke during the opening ceremonies on Friday night; the Brussels United Church held a breakfast on Saturday morning and it was up to, from left, Doug Sholdice, Ron Howatt and Don Crawford to keep the hot plates full; the best tub in the Bath Tub Race: The Broke Back Bath Tub; Murray’s Barber Shop taking its show on the road during the parade on Saturday; the Tri-County ball reunion which saw members from teams from Belmore, Bluevale, Brussels, Walton, Moncrieff, Kurtzville, Jamestown, Millbank, Ethel, Monkton, Rostock, Wroxeter, Gorrie and Cranbrook get together to rehash the past; Huron-Bruce MPP Lisa Thompson getting her cowgirl act on during the celebrity equine events on Friday night and members of the Huron Pioneer Thresher and Hobby Association taking part in the parade on Saturday.
