The Brussels Tigers began the
2012 Huron County Fastball League
season on the right foot last
Wednesday evening as they defeated
the Wroxeter Rippers by a score of
5-2 in a game played at the Optimist
Ball park.
Ty Sebastian recorded 13

the mound to earn the victory. He
also led the Tigers at the plate as he
rapped out a pair of singles and
added a double. Steve Scholl

McArter, Ben Pletch and Corey
Campbell. The Tigers put two
runners across the plate in the first
inning, added a run in the second
and scored two more runs in the
bottom of the third.
Veteran player Doug Shaw said it
was a nice team win to open the
season.
“Everyone got to play,” he said.
“Ty (Sebastian) pitched a strong
game.”
According to Shaw, the Tigers are
a good team again this year, adding
some young players to the roster.
Ben Pletch has been added to the
pitching rotation and Nathan Watson
has also joined the team.
Next game for the Tigers is June 6
when they travel to Sebringville for
an 8:30 p.m. contest against the
Sting.
The Blyth Barons open the home
portion of their season tomorrow,
June 1, when they host the
