Changes set for restaurant under new ownershipThe Auburn Grill, or Stickers as it
used to be known, is under new
management and some changes will
be coming to the establishment.
The restaurant opened under its
new name and under the
management of Karen and Ken
Warwick on March 26.
The couple purchased the
restaurant with the intent of
changing a few things and bringing ameeting place into the village ofAuburn.“We think we can bring it back tolife,” Karen said. “We want to bring
a hub to the community and put
Auburn back on the map. It will
be a place where old friends
meet and people can meet new
friends.”
As part of the renovations the
Warwicks are planning on tidying up
the site to increase curb appeal,
putting in a variety store and sellinggasoline.“You really need gas here,” Karensaid. “There’s nothing betweenGoderich and Blyth and, if it’s later
on, there’s nothing between
Goderich and Stratford if you’re
taking the back roads.”
The site will sell Shell Gasoline
through Edward Fuels.
Also for sale at the location will be
various oils and fuels that travellers

Residents of Auburn and travelers of County Road 25 will
see some changes happening to the former Stickers Family
Restaurant since it has come under new ownership and a
new name: The Auburn Grill. Ken and Karen (shown above)
Warwick purchased the location with hopes of refreshing
the location and diversifying the business. (Ken Warwick photo)
Signs of spring are abundant all
over the village, one being the robins
visible everywhere the eye can see.
Many have been privileged to see
the leucistic robin nesting in the pine
tree in the Baechler’s yard across
from the post office. Leucism is a
condition caused by a genetic
mutation that prevents pigment,
similar to albinism. As a result, this
robin does not have the normal,
classic plumage colors listed in field
guides. Our village robin is white
and black with a slight tinge of red
on its breast. One more thing to add
to the list of unique things to see in
Auburn.
Families are invited to participate
in Auburn’s First Annual Easter Egg
Hunt on Saturday, March 3 at the
Auburn Community Hall. The event
will run from 10 a.m. to noon, rain
or shine. Children will have an
opportunity to participate in Easter
games and activities, with face
painting and a visit from the Easter
Bunny. Eggs will be hidden all
around the village for lucky hunters
to find. A colouring contest will also
be featured and colouring pages can
be picked up at the post office.
If you would like to make a
monetary donation, a candy
donation or if you would like to
donate your time, all are welcome.
Please contact Laura Beacom at
519-441-0714.
Many have noticed that there is a
trench in the Auburn Community
Park near the playground. There has
been some flooding in the park and
Central Huron has put in the trench
in an effort to allow the water a path
in which to run off. The
municipality is aware of the
situation and is looking into it.
Someone will also be attending to
fixing the light standard that blew
down in the last big wind storm.
Please take care with your little ones
while playing at the park in the
meantime.
Please note that there is a donation
box set up at the post office in
memory of Gunnar Christensen.
Any donations to the family can be
made at the post office.
