NH garbage has to be clearAs of today, March 1, NorthHuron Township is switching over toa clear garbage bag collection modelwhere any bags containingrecyclable materials or in any bag
that isn’t clear will not be collected.
To be collected, garbage must be
placed curbside in a clear or clear-
coloured bag with a garbage
collection sticker on them and can
be a maximum of 18 kilogram(approximately 40 pounds). One small 55 centimetre by 50centimetre privacy bag, roughly thesize of a grocery bag, is permitted
per 18 kilogram bag of garbage.
The change will apply to all
residents and businesses in the area
who have their waste picked up by
the township regardless of whether
they use curbside collection ordumpster collection.Bags that are found to either benot clear enough for curbsidecollection or landfill workers to
verify the contents will be left at the
curb or turned away from the site.
Blue bags are still allowed for
recycling, according to the
township’s website. A list of
acceptable materials for recycling
can also be found there through the

Congregation told God is there
Greeting worshippers at Blyth
United Church on Sunday, Feb. 26
was Mary Lou Stewart. Hope Button
and Lynn Chalmers were in charge
of ushering. Floyd Herman was
music director.
Rev. Gary Clark welcomed
everyone to church on the First
Sunday of Lent. He drew everyone’s
attention to the announcements
printed in the bulletin with special
attention to the official board
meeting March 6 at 7 p.m. Also the
ladies are making fruit pies, both
large and small (same size as the
meat pies).
The call to worship was the
singing of the first verse of the hymn,
“Many Are the Light Beams”
followed by the prayer of approach
and the repeating of the New Creed.
The children were asked to come
to the front for their story time. The
children went downstairs for their
time of fellowship after saying a
prayer with the congregation. The
offering was received followed by
the hymn, “What Can I Do?” and the
offertory prayer for Lent.
The congregational favourite
hymn, “Tell Me the Stories of Jesus”
was sung. The scripture was from
Mark 2: 13-22. The congregation
was favoured with the choir singing
the anthem, “Flying Free”.
Rev. Clark’s message to the adults
was “I’ll be There.” The next hymn,
“Come Let Us to the God of Love”
was followed by the prayers of the
people, silent prayer and the singing
of The Lord’s Prayer.
The last hymn, “All the Way My
Saviour Leads Me” was followed by
commissioning and benediction.
Everyone was invited for coffee and
fellowship.
One mark of growth in grace
(J.C. Ryle, “Growth in Grace” 1879)
“Grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ”
2 Peter 3:18
One mark of growth in grace, is increased HUMILITY. The man whose soul is
growing, feels his own sinfulness and unworthiness more every year.
His is ready to say with Job, “I am vile!”
And with Abraham, “I am dust and ashes!”
And with Jacob, “I am not worthy of the least of all Your mercies!”
And with David, “I am a worm!”
And with Isaiah, “I am a man of unclean lips!”
And with Peter, “I am a sinful man, O Lord!”
The nearer the Christian draws to God, and the more he sees of God’s holiness and
perfections--the more thoroughly is he sensible of his own countless sins and
imperfections. The further he journeys in the way to Heaven--the more he understands
what Paul meant when he says,
“I am not already perfect!”
“I am not fit to be called an apostle!”
“I am less than the least of all the saints!”
“I am the chief of sinners!”
The riper the Christian is for glory, the more, like the ripe corn--he hangs down his head
with humility. The brighter and clearer his gospel light--the more he sees of the
shortcomings and infirmities of his own heart. When first converted, he would tell you
he saw but little of them--compared to what he sees now.
Would anyone know whether he is growing in grace? Be sure that you look within for
increased humility.
