EVELYN LOUISE CRAWFORD
Mrs. Evelyn Crawford of
Wingham, passed away at Wingham
and District Hospital on Sunday,
Jan. 29, 2012. She was 98.
The former Evelyn Culbert was
the beloved wife of the late Leonard
Crawford who predeceased her in
1985.
Evelyn was the dear mother of
Lois and Bruce Robertson of
Wingham, Bill Crawford of
Mississauga and Bob and Ann
Crawford of Wingham. She is
survived by her daughter-in-law
Nancy Crawford of Mississauga, 13
grandchildren, 24 great-
grandchildren, sisters-in-law Zella
Crawford of Stratford, Margaret Oke
of Parry Sound and Doris Culbert of
Lucknow.
Evelyn was predeceased by her
son Ken (2001), daughter-in-law
Joan (2011), her grandson Peter
Robertson (2009), three brothers and
one sister.
Visitation was held at McBurney
Funeral Home, Wingham on
Tuesday, Jan. 31. The funeral service
was held Wednesday. Rev. Richard
D. Hall officiated. Interment is in
Wingham Cemetery.

Norma Hoegy of Brodhagen
passed away peacefully, surrounded
by her family at Seaforth
Community Hospital on Tuesday,
Jan. 24, 2012. She was 85.
Norma was the beloved wife of the
late Wilbur Hoegy (1990). She was
the dear mother of Barbara Smithers
(Randy), Maynard Hoegy (Lynn),
Bonnie Beimers (John), Merle
Hoegy (Rhonda) and Beverley
McCreight (Bill). She was the loving
grandmother of Scott (Kelli), Stacey
(Ferg) and Sarah; Christopher (Thu),
Jennifer (Scott) and Ryan (Krista);
Emily (Adam) and Nicolas; Sean,
Laurin and Zachary; Joshua,
Michael and Katelyn and the
cherished “GG” of 11 great-
grandchildren.
Norma was the dear sister of
Melinda Beuerman and dear sister-
in-law of Leotta McKenzie and
Laverne and Greta Hoegy.
Norma was predeceased by her
parents Louis and Louise (Gordner)
Hillebrecht, brother Edgar
Hillebrecht and brother-in-law
Alfred Beuerman.
Friends were received at the
Lockhart Funeral Home, Mitchell on
Thursday, Jan. 26. The funeral
service was held at St. Peter’s
Lutheran Church, Brodhagen on
Friday. Rev. Dale Finch officiated.
Interment is in St. Peter’s Lutheran
Cemetery.

Willis Knight of Brussels passed
away at Huronlea Home for the
Aged on Monday, Jan. 23, 2012.
Born in Listowel on Nov. 5, 1941,
Willis was in his 71st year.
Willis was the husband of the late
Barbara Stiles (Nov. 12, 2008) and
will be sadly missed by his
daughters Judy and her husband
Dennis Becker of Mildmay and
Patty and her husband Corrie
Dummitt of Sarnia, and his
grandchildren Alyssa, Cassidy,
Brody and Bryce.
Willis was the dear brother of the
Rev. Ken and Aileen Knight of
Goderich, Jim and Dona Knight of
Brussels, Jack and Donna Knight of
Brussels, Harry Knight of Toronto,
Leslie and Yvonne Knight of
Cranbrook, Helen Steele of
Stratford, Marilyn Cooper of
Windsor, Dorothy and Peter Fischer
of Stratford and Murray and Silvia
Knight of Cambridge. Willis was
also loved by his many nieces and
nephews. He was predeceased by his
parents Gordon and Elsie (Smith)
and sisters Berva and Wilma.
Friends were received by the
family at the Schimanski Family
Funeral Home on Thursday, Jan. 26
until the time of the funeral service.
Rev. Elwin Garland of Melville
Presbyterian Church officiated.
Interment will be in Brussels
Cemetery this spring.

Wingham passed away at Malton
Village, Mississauga on Saturday,
Jan. 28, 2012. He was 94.
Arthur was the beloved husband of
the late Mae (Fischer) Thomas who
predeceased him in 2002. He was
the dear father of Douglas and Jean
Thomas of Mississauga and Gerald
and Erika Thomas of Calgary and
the loving grandfather of Brian,
David and Richard Thomas. He was
the brother of Ed Elston of RR 1,
Arva.
Bernard was predeceased by his
parents Albert and Emily (Austin)
Thomas, his sister Lavina Coombs
and his brothers Roy, Harold and
MacKenzie Thomas and William
and James Elston.
Visitation was held at McBurney
Funeral Home Chapel, Wingham, on
Wednesday prior to the funeral
service that day. Rev. Bernard
Skelding officiated. Interment is in
Wingham Cemetery.
