The annual Christmas entertain
ment of the Centralia Sunday School
will be 'held in the church on (Fri
day evening of this week.

The school concert on Friday
evening of last week was a great
success, There was a large attend
ance and the children all took their
parts exceptionally well. Mr. Bruce
Field was the chairman and the
program opened with a Cantata, “A
Merry Christmas from Molly,” un
der the direction of Mr. Lawrence
Wein. The remainder of the 'pro
gramme consisting of readings,
songs, dialogues, an intsrumental
and a pageant, *‘A Prophesy Ful
filled,” was put on under the direc
tion of the teacher, Miss Norma
Urquhart. Several beautiful Christ
mas carols were sung by Mfgs Mary
Urquhart, of 'Kirkton. Following
the programme Santa appeared and
distributed the gifts. Among these
was a beautiful table lamp, the gift
of the school section to Mrs, Lome
Hicks in appreciation of her work
as teacher for the ipast five years.

The final meeting of the council
of the Township of Stephen was
held in the council rooms, Crediton,
December 16th, 4946, at one p.m,,

be completed as soon as possible.
