Miss Pearl Merriam, R.N., or London, was a week-end guest with Miss Winnie ,Field,, • The annual Christmas entertain­ ment of the Centralia Sunday School will be 'held in the church on (Fri­ day evening of this week. Christmas services will be in the church on Sunday with ial music by the choir for services. The school concert on Friday evening of last week was a great success, There was a large attend­ ance and the children all took their parts exceptionally well. Mr. Bruce Field was the chairman and the program opened with a Cantata, “A Merry Christmas from Molly,” un­ der the direction of Mr. Lawrence Wein. The remainder of the 'pro­ gramme consisting of readings, songs, dialogues, an intsrumental and a pageant, *‘A Prophesy Ful­ filled,” was put on under the direc­ tion of the teacher, Miss Norma Urquhart. Several beautiful Christ­ mas carols were sung by Mfgs Mary Urquhart, of 'Kirkton. Following the programme Santa appeared and distributed the gifts. Among these was a beautiful table lamp, the gift of the school section to Mrs, Lome Hicks in appreciation of her work as teacher for the ipast five years. Mrs. Hicks very ably expressed her thanks, IV .M.S. The W.M.S. Rev. and Mrs. Weir on Monday eve­ ning of this week. The Christmas programme was followed as printed in the Missionary Monthly with Mrs. Wellington Skinner as leader. The ladies representing India were Miss Agnes Anderson, Mrs. G. R. Andrew, Mrs. George Hicks and Mrs, Lome Hicks. Those represent­ ing Canada were Mrs. Weir, M!rs. Gates Mrs Elliott and Mrs Bowden Mrs. Hepburn^ presided over the business and Rev. Weir closed the meeting with prayer. Lunch was served by Mrs. Kershaw and Mrs. Bowden.
