Celebrates Birthday Miss Elizabeth Shier celebrated her 80th birthday on October ,30'th at the .home of her sister, Mrs. >D. Hazelwood, where she makes her home. Mrs Cough- ■ lin gave an interesting account of the convention held at Chatham. It being the twenty-fifth anniver­ sary of this branch a the wprk accomplished under the different presidents was proved very interesting, lunch was served from a lace cov­ ered table centred with birthday cake complete with twenty-five candles. Hallowe’en Concert The annual Mission Band Hallo­ we’en concert and bazaar was held on Friday in the basement of the church. A good program was given by the children. A masquerade par­ ade was followed by a chorus by the band. The chairman’s address was given by Rev. Laing. Piano duet by Ruth and Merle Hazelwood recitation by Reg McCurdy; piano solo by Betty Mills; dialogue, “Dar­ ling Miss McCutey” by members of the band; vocal duet by Merle Hazelwood and Verla Wheeler, rec­ itation, Christine Moore; dialogue “The Witches Secret” recitation by Billy Spence. ‘ The program closed with the Nationl Anthem. The pro­ ceeds for the evening amounted $45.00 to DASHWOOD Misses Verna Cunningham, Dundas and Myrtle Gaiser, of Pres­ ton, spent the week-end here. Anniversary Services Anniversary services were in the Evangelical church on day. Rev. Erb, of Mildmay, the guest speaker both morning ■and evening and delivered two in­ spiring semons. At the morning ser­ vice the choir rendered an anthem •and .a solo entitled “Beyond the Dawn” was sung (by Mrs. J. M. Tieman. For the evening service the choir rendered two anthems, one of which was the “Holy City”, the solo part being Howard Simpson of mer choir member, good attendance at Musical Program Monday evening a ram was given in the church. Rev. Paul Erb rendered several organ selections as well as several hymn interpretations on the <piano.
