Mrs. Becker of her niece, ter, of that city. ■Special Rally Day 'Services were held in th© Evangelical Church on Sunday morning. The church was beautifully decorated with t baskets of flowers, fruit, and greenery ar ranged about the pul-pit and win dows. Mrs. Lloyd Edighoffer, of Mitchell, was the guest speaker. The Sunday School choir occupied the choir loft and gave several ex cellent selections. A quartette -by Misses Shirley and Marion Smith, Shirley Guenther and Betty Gaiser. In the evening Rev. Burn delivered a very able Thanksgiving sermon. Mr. Wayne spent Sunday in Thedford. Those attending the Eveland- Dewan -wedding in London on Sat urday included Mr. and Mrs. Sam Elsie, Mr. Mis. Harold Fischer, Mrs. Leo, also Mir. land Jr., of Phyllis -Gibson, of Thedford. Evangelical W.M.S. Dashwood Evangelical Church W.M.S. had as their speaker, Mr. Taylor, returned missionary from the Mackenzie River District now principal of Dashwood Public school. Mr. Taylor -gave a very in teresting and instructive lecture on his experiences among the Indians and Eskimos where he and his wife served for over three years. He stress&d the lack of hospitals and medical aid as well -as the great need for missionary workers, there being five churches in -a distance of 1700: miles, some not ’having any service for over, two years, and •asking the prayers for workers -and definite need of thought for these people. There are approximately 2,500 Eskimos left and he stressed that if Something ‘was not done in the line of medical aid for tuber culosis they would be extinct with in the next 25 years. He recalled a village of 600 persons. 40'0' of them being wiped out last winter with the disease. He also mention ed about the remarkable memory an-d poor eye sight of the Eskimos. He told about the savageness of the husky dogs, each village having ■hundreds of them. They were chain ed to stakes for protection because they are known to eat hunnaii beings Within a few minutes.
