Mr, Clarence McNaughton and Miss Margaret 'McNaughton under­ went appendix operations in Clin­ ton General Hospital last week. Mr. and Mrs. Alger Brown re­ turned to their home in Oxford', Mich., after spending the past week with Mrs. Fred Corbett an>d Ed­ ward. Mr, and M!rs. Norman Jones and Mrs. Wesley Jones visited with Mr. and Mrs. Ferguson in London on Sunday, also with Mr. Wesley Jones at Westminster Hospital. Miss Olive Walker, R.N., who has spent the past two weeks with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Walker, left on Tuesday for Toronto en route to her home in Rochester, N.Y. Mrs. and Mrs. Alger Brown, of Oxford, Mich., accompanied by Mrs. (Fred Corbett and 'Mrs. Jack Corbett and 'Connie visited with Mr. and Mrs. John Colvin at Strath- roy recently. Short Course The short course “Clothes for Little Folk” chosen by the Hensall Institute will be presented in the Hensall Town Hall on the follow­ ing afternoons, October 2<F to Oct­ ober 25th from 1.30 to 4 p.m. Miss Dora Burke, Ontario Dept. Women’s Institute Branch, will be in charge. The Hensall Institute members extend a corial invitation to any Hensall and district friends to attend this interesting and worthwhile project. Arnold Circle Evening' Auxiliary The October meeting the Arnold Circle Evening Auxiliary was held on Monday evening at the home of Mrs. John E. McEwen with a good attendance of members. Mrs. Mel­ vin Moir ’presided and the meeting opened with a Thanksgiving read­ ing by Mrs. Gordon Schwalm after which the hymn “Now Sing We A Song for the Harvest” was sung. The scripture lesson, Psalm 103 was read by Mrs. Chas. Forrest after which Mrs. A. D. McEwen led in prayer. The singing of “O Where Are the Reapers” was fol­ lowed by a Thanksgiving story read by Miss Violet Hyde followed by a poem entitled .“Thanksgiving Time” .read by Mrs. Glenn Bell. The minutes, roll call, offering and business followed and the meeting closed ,by singing “All The Way My Saviour Leads Me” and the Lord’s Prayer in unison.
